  1. Could be a network issue, router issue or something to that effect shutting down your video streams because of exceeding bandwidth. Have you tried viewing this from another remote site to check, if it happens on another remote site, then its something at your network where your DVR is located. Also, have you tried opening one camera at a time.

Be prepared to send it back to China at your own costs if you have any problems with it.

My Home Setup - Qvis Zeus 8

Thanks for the Update on the Blackberry thing Adam. I havent had much BB customers to test this with and Blackberry updates their OS all the time its hard to keep up and guarantee operability. 37778 does not need to be forwarded but its not going to hurt anything if you do have it forwarded. 554 only needs to be forwarded if you plan on using a blackberry. So for Android and Iphone users, 554 is not needed.
  4. okay cool. I just looked at the firmware and it does cover the 32, my bad.
  5. I do have a playback guide on this if anyone wants it, PM me. Its still not quite done yet because I cant get that little running man to work right for me but other than that, its good to go. DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR ZEUS WITH THIS FIRMWARE. IT WILL TURN IT INTO A NICE PRETTY LOOKING PAPERWEIGHT IF YOU DO. This is only good for the Apollo line of the DVR's - (but not the Apollo 32, that takes a seperate firmware) If you have any questions about this firmware and you bought a DVR from us, feel free to contact me with any questions. I'll be releasing the firmware in a couple of days once we get the guides done.

    Interface with some light!!!

Anti CR cures the problem in our warehouse.

    difference between protocols

You should not notice any difference between protocols and baud rates. Simply use Pelco D with any baud rate and match it up on your DVR and your good to go. Also, be sure to match up the Cam ID's as well.

    Interface with some light!!!

The color rolling is caused by certain types of flourescent lights. Some camera DSP's, such as the Effio, has a feature called Anti CR which stands for Anti Color Rolling which takes care of the issue greatly. We have that issue in our warehouse with every single camera we test, its wierd.
  9. Yeah, I guess for the 1% or less of the population that want to do that, then I guess you got me there.

Battlefield 3 VS. Modern Warfare 3

I usually end up playing it every night after i get my stuff done. That is usually time to spend with my wife but since I got her that Kindle Fire I dont have to pay attention to her as much during that time This strategy will not last long.

New Lord Of the Rings Movies

I just found out that there is going to be two new Lord of the Ring movies coming out. One in Dec 2012 and another in Dec 2013. This is going to be a prequel which is going to be Titled "The Hobbit" I was wondering if they were going to make a movie about that book and its looks like they are. Sorry if this is old news but I just found out about it and thought it was pretty cool.

Wholesale Cheap Car DVR From China

Holy Smokes, they keep making those DVR's more covert every day. That is the first car DVR that I have seen that looks like a dining room table. How intuitive!!
  15. Its because you are recording continuously and not on motion. When you are doing a search, it searches the recordings, and since there are no motion detection recordings, nothing is pulling up. If you want to search motion detection recordings, you must set up your motion detection settings and record on schedule. To see how to setup motion detection properly: http://www.nellyssurplus.com/motiondetection.pdf If you want to record nonstop but still be alerted on motion, then perhaps you can setup email alerts and you will be notified by email whenever there is motion, but you will still be recording non-stop. Here is a guide on email alerts: http://www.nellyssurplus.com/emailmotion.pdf Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any other questions.
  16. I believe you, its a gorgeous picture.

    Special delivery

This guy didnt even get fired either, he just got demoted. Ha Whats even worse is how UPS and Fedex treats their packages in the hubs. This is where the most damage occurs because they know noone is around to see them. Boxes get thrown around like nobodies business. The Dallas hub is notorious for this. We have had a high percentage of our damages being sent through the Dallas UPS hub and I have heard a few other shippers tell me the same thing.

    QVIS Apollo HD 8

It goes like this: - Channel 1 can be 1-30 FPS @ D1 but the remaining 7 channels have to be 1-30FPS @ CIF - If you have more than 1 Channel at D1, then you can only do (1-7 FPS @ D1 on any or all channels) regardless of what the other channels frame rates or resolutions are set at. Freeing up frame rate on one channel does not add frame rate on another - regardless of what any channel is set at, you can always do 1-30 FPS @ CIF If you want fully customizable frame rates up to 30 FPS D1 on all channels, look at the HD Pro.

    Kindle Fire Review

I bought my wife a Kindle Fire for Christmas and gave it to her early. These things are pretty cool. I know that alot of people are comparing this to the Ipad but I dont think thats a fair comparison. I have not used an Ipad extensively but I am sure that its cooler than the fire. But the fire is still pretty cool for the price. From what I understand, they are selling these right below their cost and are making up for it in media sales. I read some reviews on Amazon that made me kind of nervous but after I tested it, most of those reviews were hogwash. I kept reading where the browser was slow, this is hogwash, it actually seemed faster than Firefox or internet explorer on the same exact network on a computer. Some of the reviews also said the touch screen is non-responsive, this is completely hogwash. Its so responsive that I could sometimes barely hover my finger over the screen and it would seem to detect that. If you are a big reader and a media fanatic, I would recommend this to anyone. Sure its not an Ipad, but for a super glorified E-reader, you cant go wrong. What would make this even cooler is if they opened it up to the Android market, if they found a way to make it compatible.
  21. Yes. See this: http://www.nellyssurplus.com/backupnetwork.pdf Make sure you attic does not get too hot during the summer. Those attics can get really hot and heat kills.
  22. Thats a great point! If you have all intentions of expanding to IP in the future and you know exactly what IP cameras you are going to use and you are confident that the IP cameras that you plan on using will be fully compatible with the software you are currently using, then I would agree thats a good solution. Here is the problem though: after you add the costs of encoders, switch, PC, and licenses, it still ends up being way more expensive than your typical comparative standalone, not to mention it takes more technical "know how" to get this setup compared to a standalone. And my guess is that the reason that person is starting out with Analog cameras in the first place is that that particular person does not have the budget to get a Megepixel based solution in the first place. So if they are on a budget such as that and they compare the costs of a good standalone compared to the PC based solution, it may make more sense to go with the standalone. Thats all I am saying, yes your solution is a good one, but one that may not be financially viable for that person.
  23. exactly, thats my point. Again, why would you pay thousands on a PC based DVR when all it is is a $500 PC with a $1000+ DVR card on it in which the whole setup costs $3-5000 in its entirety, when a standalone costs much less and if you wanted to get IP cameras later, just get a $500 PC and run it on that. I am not dissing your "solutions" or your precious beloved Avigilon equipment that you sell. I am just trying to make a point. I dont know why you guys get so huffy puffy about this stuff. I mean did I say anything that your solution that you offer is not a good one? I was simply talking about starting out with a PC based DVR to run analog cameras. Put your guard down, no one is out to get you.
