MegaPixel Cameras - Images and Demos
SEANHAWG replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions

So I got some 55" bad boy planar monitors from a retail store they were using as display monitors. 1080p heavy duty suckers. Anyways, they have HDMI inputs on them but no audio on the monitor nor does it have audio outputs anywhere on the monitor. They were obviously made for video only. I wanted to use one of these hawgs as a TV. Is there any device that I can plug into that has HDMI input that has seperate audio outputs and it also pipes the HDMI video output through.

I still got some 46" philips bad boy commercial grade monitors. But shipping to Cananda would be more than the whole monitor. -

Is complete remote setup of Dahua DVR possible
SEANHAWG replied to pilotg2's topic in Digital Video Recorders
How would this be possible? 120 DPI fonts with 96 DPI setting? I am afraid there is something you are doing wrong. Please make sure you are following this guide to a "T": http://www.nellyssurplus.com/pssdisplay.pdf Works like a champ everytime. -

switching it to 96 dpi works everytime so not sure why its not working on yours. From looking at your screenshots, the screenshot you are showing is not the dpi setting. what version pss u using? Also, what OS are you using on your computer? -
give em a shout. I hear they are really nice and helpful.

You have to put it on 96 DPI to make it look right. I assume you are using Windows 7 or Vista. -

Trying to replace time lapse vcrs with dvd recorders
SEANHAWG replied to md102090's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
For a retail situation, you really need to ditch the VCR and DVD recorder mindset. To be honest most homeowners have a more realistic budget than $200 for a good surveillance recorder for 4 just cameras so it may a good idea to politely tell your bosses to wise up in a tactful manner about their budget for their CCTV equipment or simply deal with what they have or simply not have one at all. There is a time when putting a patch on things actually becomes counterproductive and I think this is one of those situations. They spent $390 on DVD players that you cant really use and that money could have went to DVR recorders. And I say all this with all due respect. If they really care about loss prevention, present them the qualities and productivity of a DVR compared to the system that they have now and it will be a breath of fresh air for them. -
Excellent! yes it will work on Internet Explorer from other computers now too. Just be sure to configure their active X settings and view in compatibility mode.

Problems with P3 24 VAC Power Supplies
SEANHAWG replied to eztech's topic in General Digital Discussion
Yes that is common to have the PSU's with a couple points higher than 24 Volts to account for voltage loss over the cable run but for them to be 28 or 29 volts seems kind of higher than normal. I normally see about 26 volts on most 24 VAC PSU's right at the PSU and at the camera end its about the same if the cable run is not very long but normally drops down to about 24 volts under load. We also had problems running the CNB box cams but we were using 28 Volt power supplies and they would not come on at all, once we hooked them up to a regular 24 VAC transformer, all problems were solved. But every PSU that we have worked with that was rated at 24 Volts were able to power the CNB cameras no problem. We have worked with Altronix, Ultrak, and Wren PSU's -
dahua cms vs avermedia cms vs eclipse
SEANHAWG replied to ouijadon's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You can access dahua DVR's through internet explorer. Or you can access it through the PSS software as well. You should schedule a time with your neighbor Rory as he knows the ins and outs of the Dahua DVR and could show you everything, he can also help you out with purchasing as well. -
Cool. I guess they just made it available. Apparently you have to download something on your computer in order to make it work. Here is a file from Dahua: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/upload/Run%20PSS%20for%20MAC%20Lion%20(10.7).doc Unfortunately I dont have a lion comp to test this with. Has anyone tested this on lion yet?

DSP= Digital Signal Processor. Basically the brains of the camera. The CCD would be the heart. And the lens would be the Eyes.
-
Sure its a good one. But its not the only thing that makes a good camera. The DSP is also an important aspect as well as the lens being used and other aspects can play into the overall quality of the camera. but DSP and Sensor are probably the 2 main things.
-
They said it should be out in a month. But of course they have been saying that for the last few months...... I'll post an update on the forum if I hear anything.
-
YES
-
I just confirmed with Dahua that there is no good workable update for Lion yet
-
I think the weak link in your camera is the image sensor. For high res cameras, its advantageous to get one that uses a 1/3" CCD. I've never seen one that has a WDS sensor to be honest. Not real sure if thats the same thing as a CCD or not but dont think it is.

Video Motion Record All time and Specs in In Video
SEANHAWG replied to AndyA's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Its probably the noise from the picture that is kicking on the motion detection. This is a frequent problem for nighttime shots -
No offense but You need to upgrade to a D1 DVR before you show comparisons such as that . Your CIF DVR does not really give any camera justice whether it be 480 TVL or 700 TVL. The 700 TVL picture you show is no where near represenative of what a 700 TVL camera should look like. Also, it looks like your vari-focal 700 TVL camera is not focused I have some old used 330 TVL cameras that would look better than both of those pictures to be honest.

dahua or qvis 16 channel dvr, anything else??
SEANHAWG replied to marvelusmarvcus's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Higher prices than Qvis and only 1 year warranty as opposed to 3 with Qvis. -
perhaps it only has a limitation of 3 presets per tour
