Holy Wall Wart!
-
As suspected, the cops really arent doing anything on this. But to be fair, they do have other more important things to deal with. I tried calling this guy but apparently his phone numbers are incorrect now. We have been checking Craigslist for it to pop back up for sale.

The pulsating is due to the DVR compression. It is fairly common but is usually not near as noticeable as in that video that you posted of the Samsung camera. My guess is that the pulsating wont look as bad if you put it in Auto Day/Night mode where it will make the camera turn to B/W at night where the noise wont be so bad. It usually looks worse with a noisier picture.
-
I doubt its the cameras if its happening on both Samsungs and a little on the Nuvico's. You probably wont see it on your Live View. You will only see it on your recorded view, it just looks like compression. Atleast thats a theory. It will occur more on the "noisier" cameras than it will the clearer cameras.
-
Does it do it when you look at the live monitor view when the monitor is connected to the DVR (not over the network)
-
It also almost looks like video compression by the DVR. Does it do this on all of your cameras?
-
Yeah thats wierd. It looks like your camera has a heart murmur, LOL. Does it do this in B/W Mode too?

You can change the main stream to CIF or D1. You go to the Encode section and choose CIF or D1 resolution. You can also adjust frame rates here. Its in the same section where you adjusted your extra stream.

There are 2 reasons why you cant see IR in that picture #1) You have lights on on your porch and there would be no way to see the IR in that picture #2) Your IR cut filter is blocking out the incoming IR in the camera since you have it in color mode. Still doesnt mean its not shooting out IR. Turn off your lights where its real dark and go up and look up at the camera to see if you have a red glow. Cup your hands over the camera if you have to to make it real dark.

Yeah I looked at the manual and I see what you mean but I still dont think there is a way to completely turn it off. I think there is a way to dim it down and/or make it like smart IR. It says its a winner DSP, I have a camera with the same DSP and I'll check tomorrow. I am almost 99% positive that the IR cannot be completely turned off. Whenever you turn it on IR mode, that simply means it is turning on "Smart IR". I could be wrong but I'll check and make sure.

How much voltage can a DC IR camera take??
SEANHAWG replied to lupy's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Cool Source! Thanks! -
Hi Micheal, Recording can only be done through the main stream. The extra stream is for viewing only. In PSS, you select a camera from your device list and then you can select main stream or extra stream for a viewing option . Also, extra stream is for cell phone viewing too. Thanks, Sean

I would doubt that the IR is controlled from the OSD as I have seen very few cameras that are. Dont get me wrong, some are, but most of the time they are not. Most of the time, the IR function and mechanism is seperate from the camera functions totally and the IR is as simple as turning on whenever the lights go below a certain level and I bet that this is happening. The only time I have seen IR that can be controlled by the OSD is on cameras that have "Smart IR" This is the only logical explanation for your current problem as there would really be no other reason for your cameras have wavey lines at night other than an amperage pull or voltage drop and the only thing that can be causing that is extra load, that extra load has got to be caused by your IR's coming on. One of our older cameras do the same exact thing right now, except the extra load is from the heaters inside the housing as opposed to IR, but I get wavy lines just like you.
-
Yes, alot better than 12V DC. If it happens only at night then it sounds like it used more amps at that time. How do you know the camera is not using IR at this time. Just because the area is lit up with a porch light and just because it is in "color mode" doesnt mean the IR lights arent coming on. The IR lights come on by a photocell that is on the IR board and whenever the lights drop to a certain level, those IR lights come on regardless of what mode you have the camera in. My guess is that you IR is actually coming on, hence the extra amperage pull, hence the wavy lines. Its an amperage problem due to your IR lights coming on. And I bet that your voltage at the camera during that load is significantly lower than 12V. As mike said, 24 VAC should reduce the problem. Or you can always move a 12V power supply closer to the camera.

Viewing Qvis DVR/CNB VBM Camera over IP Cam Viewer Lite
SEANHAWG replied to MikeInTampa's topic in General Digital Discussion
IP Cam viewer lite should work as I have tested it on mine. You dont choose CNB as a camera. You choose Dahua from the DVR list. But what I would first try: If you want the certified newest Dahua app, check this tutorial out that we just made that shows how to use the gDMSS software for android: Its free. -

Does your PTZ look like this: -
Hi Jon, At the time I posted this in January, Hugesnot was the only broadband service available to me. I was aware that they had the Static IP option but did not want them to rip me off with more monthly payments than they already were. We now have ATT U-verse and its the bomb. No ghetto Fair Access Policy bull dung like with Hughes Net. I feel sorry for folks who's only option is Hugesnot because I was once there myself. My whole experience with them was not good all around.

The car picture looks pretty crappy. Are you sure its in focus -
Well not exactly. If its an 8 or a 4 channel, you can select channel 1 as 1-30 FPS D1 while the others have to be 1-30 FPS CIF Or......... You can choose any or all the channels to either be 1-7 FPS D1 or 1-30 FPS CIF - Any combo The 16 channels you can select Ch1 and 9 to be the full D1 while the others are CIF or.............. You can choose any or all the channels to either be 1-7 FPS D1 or 1-30 FPS CIF - Any combo

You can do the same thing on Dahua, except its 7 FPS instead of 6FPS but thats not much of a difference really.

qvis Apollo DVR "UNAVAILABLE" message
SEANHAWG replied to MikeInTampa's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Yeah Radio shack is the best bet. Just get a regular RCA cable and the adapter you need is a "RCA Female to BNC Male" Adapter. We have some if your Radio shack doesnt have them but I would be surprised if your radio shack doesnt have them.
