Highest Res and Quality From 8 Camera System Under $5,000?
SEANHAWG replied to SmallBusinessUser's topic in System Design
The encoder did not produce d1 image either. I am curious to see an IP camera that is set to 720x480 rez to see if it can resolve those lines. Can you set the Avigilon to D1 or VGA rez? -

What are some of the other standard charts out there that can test CCTV resolution. I seen the ISO chart that has a bunch of different things on it. I would like to see what a megapixel camera does under the same test. For example, a 720p camera tested under the same test but with a chart the size of 1280 x 720 and a camera with the same (or around the same) output. -
Highest Res and Quality From 8 Camera System Under $5,000?

I did get the horizontal lines to reproduce but not the vertical, so yes I would say that you are partially correct because I am too stubborn to say you are fully correct I will say that I didnt have the best printer, I only have monochrome and even with the best resolution setting the lines were not defined on my paper and areas were grayed in between the lines. But even if I did have a more defined image, I doubt it would probably make much of an effect on the vertical resolution so I am not trying to make excuses . -

It has adjustable bit rate settings for the main stream and whatever bit rate you set it at, it will record and send that same bit rate over the network. If you find that the bit rate and/or resolution setting is too high for your bandwidth, you can always revert to the extra stream which you can set at CIF or QCIF. This way you will be viewing at a lesser stream while the DVR is still recording at D1 at a high bit rate.

Highest Res and Quality From 8 Camera System Under $5,000?

Anyone who uses an Analog camera zoomed that far out to capture images that far away is smoking some good herb. That was a 2.8-12mm lens zoomed all the way back at 2.8mm. If I wanted to capture images that were circled in your image that far away, I would use a much stronger lens. I agree that a 2MP camera with a 2mm lens compared to an analog camera with a 2mm lens will give a better image. But tt appears that the image shown by the wire guys was recorded in CIF or QCIF and highly compressed at that. There is a reason why people still buy analog. Perhaps you can tell us what an Avigilion camera sells to the end consumer for and what the typical analog camera sells to the end consumer for and that will probably enlighten everyone why people still buy analog. More so, tell us what an entire system with all avigilon equipment sells for compared to what an entire system with analog equipment sells for and that will enlighten us even more. I am not dissing IP, I plan on carrying it within the next couple of months, but my point is it sometimes comes down to affordability. You asked this question on a couple of other threads and I followed up with another question in which you never answered. My question is if I am using an Analog Camera that has an effective pixel rating of 976(H) x 494(V) and I am recording at D1 with the lowest compression setting (highest quality). What will be my pixel count at the post recorded image? Is it going to be lower than 704x480? Significantly lower? I am not saying that it isnt, but I want to see your educated answer based on scientific data. -
All channels on the HE-T are 30 FPS D1. What they mean by main stream and extra stream is for web viewing. The main stream will have whatever the DVR is recording at. The extra stream is an optional stream for web viewing that allows you to see a lower quality image in case you have bandwidth issues viewing the main stream.

Adata Apollo, APOHDLED4-SF. Firmware Disaster!!
SEANHAWG replied to seanfry's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Normally you can use the network config tool to login to your DVR and upgrade the firmware that way. It sounds like you got an NTSC firmware update when you should have had pal. If you can give Adata your WAN IP, they can more than likely update it over the network as long as your IP on your DVR hasnt changed or your password hasnt. -
What SDI cameras are you considering?
-
Yeah, that is a doozer.
-
Use IE8 instead, all problems solved.
-
Is it possible that your distributor have you a batch of cameras that were returned to them from a previous job? The only reason I ask is, I have had the same thing happen to me. It was obvious I got a batch of open box returns on some dome cameras I got, they were obviously used, although they did work, but I was ticked. Either way, it sounds like you had a bad experience.

Qvis USA doesnt have them yet but will soon. Our Effio-E cams are scheduled to arrive Monday.
-
You will see alot of Effio P's on the market soon from different sellers. The Effio P's were available at one short time and then there were shortages due to supply in Japan. Now the supply has been replenished and consequently you will see alot of stores carrying them here in the US soon. We will have some probably in the next couple of months or so. But to be honest, the Effio P is not overwhelmingly better than the Effio E. It has a few added WDR features but overall performance is about the same. As far as resolution and default performance, they are about the same.

This is what I would do. We have had firmwares that have caused display issues as well and whenever you have the right firmware, it solves everything. -
Need Help with a Multiplexer question
SEANHAWG replied to ultimatesecurity's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Are you sure its not the VCR or VCR tape that is distorted. It is not common for a MUX to put out distorted video but very common for a VCR or VCR tape to have distorted video. The best way to test the VCR is to pop an old movie tape in there to see if it has clear playback. -
Especially when its a courtesy flush
-
It seems like it has been intermittently working for the past few days. Anyone else noticed this?
-
ok ok. Well thats still pretty cool.
-
Flushing the DNS solved all of the problems. Thanks!

You are saying you can configure PSS to accept other IP camera protocols? If so, you da man.
-
Wow, didnt even know that. Man, can PSS get any better. I havent tried it with any IP cameras. Does it support any other cameras other than Dahua IP?
-
Are you 100% positive on this? I dont see why they would not allow you to set it up for a DDNS. Do you have a static IP with Verizon Fios? If not, I bet you could get one.
-
Its probably because most Dahua Hybrids and NVR's max out at 1080p resolution. I assume they made their software the same.
-
Most, if not all, routers will allow this.
