Logging into 2 DVR's remotely that are at 1 site
SEANHAWG replied to SEANHAWG's topic in Computers/Networking
At first, I was just trying to log into the 2 DVR's via IE to see if I could do it. So this is what I had to do with my ports: HTTP Port: 81 Command Port: 5051 Media Port: 6051 Mobile Port: 7051 To login from IE I had to: To log into the first DVR, I have to type in the ipaddress To log into the second DVR. I simply had to type in ipaddress:81 To log into the second DVR from my mobile app, i simply had to type in the ipaddress and in the configuration menu, I had to assign 7051 to access the second DVR. If I wanted to login to my first DVR, I simply changed it back to 7050 -
Thanks for the input.

Logging into 2 DVR's remotely that are at 1 site
SEANHAWG replied to SEANHAWG's topic in Computers/Networking
I will find out for you when I get back to the office. One small test that I did was I tried to login to my DVR at work using the semi-colon method. Normally I just type in the WAN IP by itself 71.153.139.72 But just for giggle I tried logging into it via this method 71.153.139.72:5050 and it would not connect. Do I HAVE to have 2 DVR's to make the semi-colon version work? -

awww yes, 5051, now I am getting it. I seen that other post about doing the public to private port forwarding thing, but if my memory serves right, I dont remember seeing anything like that at all on my Netgear routers page. I'll have to check tomorrow though when I get back in the office when I do a test run. At any rate, thanks to both of you for the help. -
I use VodaHost.Com for one of my sites, they offer unlimited disk space for $7.95/mo. For ecommerce, I use Prostores.

Yeah, I'd make an offer if the shipping costs didnt eat it up. See if you can find a model on the Pan/Tilt head and contact the manufacturer to see if you can get a manual. Once you do, let us know and we'll do our best to show you the cheapest way to get it tested. Do you have a DVR?

Nice! I assume that you purchased it somewhere in Europe judging by the way they spell color "colour". Ikegami and Computar are both reputable brands in the surveillance industry. The Computar is a zoom lens and can actually zoom in and out from a remote control. The device that the camera is setting on is a Pan/Tilt head and can also move left and right up and down being remote controlled. I cant tell what brand it is though. Its not to be used outdoors unless you put the camera inside a housing. I would estimate that you could sell it for around $200-300 USD in used condition as long as it works, atleast thats what I have experienced in selling used stuff like that. That whole setup is probably nearing or over $1000 New. But that camera looks kind of old and I bet they dont make that model anymore. You could probably price it more but it would set on your shelf a little longer. If you can get it to work, you may want to keep it as its a pretty cool setup.

vandelism - In car DVR with external cameras Advice please

One of these days I am gonna buy one of those, they are sweet. -
Petra!! Sweet! Reminds me of my old youth group back in the day.

So it actually looks like 7 FPS per channel at D1. I couldnt find those specs from that link. And just out of curiosity, why do you think that this is not adequate or why do you think that CIF would be better? I also though the DVR price was a tad high for a DVR without a H/D. But with the power of Google, you can find a great deal on a 1TB hard-drive for under $100.

For the majority of DVR's out there, you cannot view your DVR with any other browser other than IE because IE has a specific program called Active X that no other browser has. The DVR uses the Avtive X in order to operate correctly. Some of the DVR's that are coming out now are not browser specific but I would say the majority require the use of IE. @KAE Whenever you login, switch the network to "Internet" instead of "LAN". This will enable the smaller substream bitrate which requires less bandwidth. Perhaps you have a slow internet connection and its taking forever for the cameras to pop up using the "LAN" method.

Well I know that is a bad analogy due to the recent sex scandal but pretty much everyone can agree that he is THE golfing legend, as well as Michael Jordan was in Basketball. I dont know if any of you guys do any bass fishing but we have a living legend who is a bass fishing machine. Whoever thinks that bass fishing is not a skill sport, I challenge you to look at a guy name Kevin Van Dam. This guy is blowing away the competition year in and year out. Today he just won his 4th Bassmasters Classic (which broke the record). The winning purse for the classic is $500,000. He has also won several "Angler of the Year" awards. He has millions of dollars worth of tournament winnings over the years. He is just a relentless machine: http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/classic/index

Sweet. Yes if I could make it in the bass fishing field, I would definetely pursue it. It takes alot of money to get started and if you suck, you will lose money like its going out of style. So I guess I'll stick with CCTV If you ever watch him fish, you will get worn out just watching him. The guy doesnt slow down or stop for anything. Its freaky how good he is, in this area he was fishing, he had several boats around him that werent catching anything, yet he was pulling them in like crazy. He may be not be all human, I dont know.

HELP with Panasonic DVR recording file playback problem
SEANHAWG replied to Kingvision's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You may have to try contacting Panasonic for a Media Player as they may have a specific codec just for that DVR. -
If I am reading that right, you should get 15FPS per channel at D1 resolution with that DVR which is pretty good. I have never used that DVR so I couldnt speak for the quality of recordings as they sometimes vary from DVR to DVR but the specs "look good". Dont forget you have to get a hard-drive as that doesnt come with one. Check for Seagate SV series which are made specifically for surveillance DVR's, I would recommend atleast a 750gb for 8 channel but you can probably find a 1TB for the same price nowadays so you may as well get a 1TB. Your Pelco cameras are actually pretty decent. There are higher resolution cameras out there but the difference you would see would be subtle. But you may just want to consider possibly getting some stronger lenses in case you need closeup shots on some of the cameras.

4CIF is basically D1 in essence so that is what you are looking for. To get a DVR that plays at full speed at D1, you are looking at alot of money and its not really worth the extra money. As people on here say all the time, you are recording surveillance, not shooting a full motion movie. I didnt see your link, maybe you can PM it to me and I can take a look.

Keep in mind that the highest resolution you will get doing the loop through method is D1. Usually this is enough to show examples of screen shots of the menu. Here is an example of one we took using this method (we cropped it a little to take out the channel display at the top left): On some DVR's, even if you do connect your DVR to a computer monitor via VGA, the menu screens are still D1 resolution, even though they are on a 1024x768 rez monitor, its just a D1 image expanded to fit the high resolution monitor. Of course there are some exceptions, one is a Dahua DVR that we just received in. It appears that they made their menu screens Hi-Def. It had HDMI, BNC out, and VGA out. So I hooked all three outputs to an LCD TV we had here and connected it to the RCA, VGA, and HDMI input and switched between inputs. THe menu screens on the VGA and HDMI (which looked the same) was significantly better than the RCA. Anytime I increased the resolution on the DVR, the menu screens got better. However, and this probably goes without saying, the video looked exactly the same on all three inputs, you will never get better than D1 video on a CCTV DVR so there is really no advantage to using a VGA, or HDMI with that.
-
The only problem I have encountered with that is if your DVR cant do 30 FPS per channel at D1 then it looks kind of funky when you are trying to show a video of how to get through certain parts of the menu. That is why we just do screen shots when it comes to showing examples of the main menu.

Yeah that normally happens once you install your own system, everyone wants you to install their system for them. I have had a few customers who did this and they order from me on a regular basis because they basically have a weekend job installing systems now. But yes, if your DVR can do D1, do that by all means, even if you lose some frame rate. you should notice a decent difference.
-
Probably doesnt have to do with the hard-drive at all. You say it is set at the "Best Quality". That has more to do with bit rate settings which does have an impact on quality but what has more of an impact is the resolution the DVR is set at. Does the DVR have the ability to do D1 or 4CIF resolution (should be around 720x480 or 704x480 pixels). You may have it set at CIF resolution 352x240. A model number will help us diagnose better

Yes, now you are catching on. You say you are not a pro but it appears you are a pro already. No seriously though, go over 70 miles east of you and have someone knowledable in bass fishing take you to lake fork. You'll turn into a redneck in no time after you catch your first Lunker.

Try drinking 2 or 3 beers and you will be more excited

No problem. I figured I would have got a response like that anyways, you may as well have been the one to get it over with I havent tried cowtipping yet, but I am definetely not going to throw the idea out. I've always hated Nascar, I'd rather watch grass grow. I tried Skoal once, I felt high for a couple of minutes, but a couple of minutes after that, I threw up so that was the last time for me. I will say that I am a little bit of a country boy, but not "country" enough to noodle, thats just plain hillbillyish. But I will say that its a sin that you live in Texas and your not a bass fisherman, you have some of the best lakes in the country. Repent now and take up fishing and God may have mercy on your soul. I'll be down 70 miles east of Dallas at Lake Fork on April 3rd. I didnt know you were born in Claremore. My mother in law works in that Hospital.

dont know anything about that app but I do know that some apps require that you manually go in an "open" the channels so you can view them. This is found somewhere in the settings.
