I'm not so sure if my desktop software would work with all DVR's.
-
We had a massive snowstorm here in Oklahoma on Tuesday and we are still shut down here on Thursday. I got customers awaiting orders to be shipped out. UPS is not even delivering or making pickups. I used to like the snow but not anymore.
-
Sometimes, but not always. Its best to use the desktop software that came with the DVR if possible. PM me your email address and I can send you something that may work.
-
Okay cool. One question though. Did that desktop software come with your DVR? If not, it may not be compatible.
-
Hmmmm. I understand that you cannot login to your desktop software, but can you login to the DVR through the internet explorer? The one that you show with this picture? If not, i sent you a PM that might help.

Did you set up your router correctly. Can you post a screen shot of your routers configuration page?
-
Yes, in your second picture for the desktop software, you will need to change the port from 80 to 5050. See if that helps. Port 80 is your HTTP port. Port 5050 is your command port. Change the port in the second picture to 5050. Also, the IP address in your second picture in a LAN IP which means you must login from the same network that your DVR is located in. Have you been able to login to your DVR from a remote location over the internet?

it looks like you need to change the DVR port on the desktop to 5050

What to get for a better image then a DBM-24VD ?? >>

I agree, top image looks focused good. But the second image's left side is out of focus. -
We had around 16" here in Oklahoma which is pretty odd for us down here, and then it was followed by single digital and negative degree temps which kept the snow around. We then got another few inches yesterday and we should be getting some more in the next few days. I have been able to get around pretty good except the only place that I seem to ever get stuck is in my driveway. Its times like this I wish I had 4 wheel drive.

Help me set up DVR to view over internet
SEANHAWG replied to bobnoxious's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
From what I have seen, Q-see has excellent instructions for there DVR's, especially when it comes to getting it set up over the internet. Their instructs should help, it pretty much the same type of instructs for all DVR's, just different Menu Screens. -

Thats what I always tell my customers. It seems to do a better job of sealing than the grommets anyways, but some of them insist on using the grommets.

a 1 TB hard drive for only 4 cameras is alot of space. My first priority would be the highest resolution at the highest quality, and then based on those settings, I would go the highest frame rate.

sweet product. I bet those are a pretty penny though. -
Do a search term "Weather Grommets" and see what you come up with. You should be able to find them at your electrical and/or cable supply store as well.

For that short of cable runs you probably wont see much of a difference but on long cable runs, I imagine that you would.

I'd be interested as well. We are also writing manual and providing video tutorials for our products and we have been taking photos and video of an LCD screen and thats not always the best looking.

Sounds like a great idea but the costs of this stuff is whats going to make it unsuccessful. They have to make it comparable to High End Analog Systems.
-
How many you got?

It looks like a compressed snapshot of a video that has been sent through the DVR. But I would agree that you might be expecting too much out of Analog. With Analog, you can usually get a few more cameras and shoot them at different angles to get closeup and wide angle shots. With MP cameras you can use less cameras because of the better image quality. Depending on the scenario, cost comparisons can vary. -
Hi Guys, I just dumped HughesNet because of this problem, and for the fact that the internet is super slow and tech support is hideous, But I will tell you that you will not be able to view your DVR over the internet unless you buy a static IP from them. That is the only way it will work.
