    Larry? Larry? Larry?

Actually is this VSTman on his normal machine logged in as VSTson? The same machine that says VSTman is suspended. Or are you posting over the phone via VSTson? If so the above probably won't help.

    Larry? Larry? Larry?

Wow, okay I'll PM him directly as well. I have never heard of anyone getting suspended. I assume you were included in an IP range ban, or you currently have the IP from your (provided by your ISP) of an IP who has been banned in the past. If Larry isn't fast enough to satisfy your CCTVForum.com fix, you can try: exit to a single browser surf to google.com Tools>Internet Options...>Delete Cookies Click it Tools>Internet Options...>Delete Files Click it Go to your cable or DSL modem and reboot it, if you have a dynamic address you'll probably get a new one.

    Covert Camera Install

You might triple check that, I'm pretty sure you can't even run plenum wiring alone inside a duct much less an actual camera.

    Covert Camera Install

3.7-9mm maybe but 3.7 is pretty wide, depends on what you are tring to see them do.
  5. Assuming you are really talking about POE, no it shouldn't. The devices communitcate before it dumps the full voltage. Many many put 12vdc on the unused pairs, thats not POE and that will fry basically any network device connected to it.
  6. I currently only provide 2 years however... I do provide remote config, remote training and remote troubleshooting (including client systems) for the full 2 years. Thats something you can't get in any dedicated system I have seen. I'm also not in the budget though. I do think your budget is reasonable, and if you requirements are low enough you can get something on the bottom end. If your requirements are very high you'll probably need another $500-1000 depending on what functions are required.
  7. You can also just splice the Cat5 and go all the way to the camera and put the balun. No matter how you send the feed the fewer connections the better. Of course this assumes you are using a single camera balun rather then a 4 port jobber.

Whats wrong with these night shots

Have you found a true day/night IR bullet that easy enough to disassemble without killing it's IP rating? I know they have to exist I just havent found one or wanted to cough up the $ to buy every D/N IR bullet to find out. I also haven't seen a true D/N bullet without IR. Thats a bad combo right now.

IR on the cam screwed ya.
  10. The RG59 and RG59 BNCs is actually the correct cable for the job. So if there were an issue it would probably come from so many interconnects and then the RG6.

    Control V2

Control center is IMO more suited towards maintence, it makes it very easy to modify a customer's DVR config. It includes a terminal server client for the v8 terminal server included with the DVR software.

    Kodicom authentic cards

Dude I was just posting in the mod forum about your 100% deletion record, hadn't even had a chance to PM you yet. -This post appears to be okay, and as such stays. In the past you mearly posted subject "DVR" body "DVR" in 9 seemling random threads. That in itself isn't a rule violation however it is a waste of space and bandwidth, I assumed you were new to BB systems. Then I check your first post which had text and that too got moderated due to advertising. Please keep and eye on this, we are. As to the validity of the Kodicom claims... Thats for someone else to call.
  13. When you can see the image, just right click it and choose properties.
  14. You shouldn't be using shielded Cat5, either way though you can remove it entirely. What you must do is keep the wires twisted, thats what matters most.

    Want a Sanity check please…!!

You tring to catch moths breeding? Mount it quite a bit farther away, for covert just drill a hole in the soffit near an attic vent. Make the hole offset one of the rafters to allow the camera to mount to it and look through the hole. Silicon and back to the beer.

    Avermedia and Megapixel cams?

Yes it is totally possible however, multi-megapixel images take many times more power then NTSC too.

    Avermedia and Megapixel cams?

That last part about compressioin contradicts what I have heard... Basically you get the compression the cameras provide and thats it. So MJPEG cannot become H.264.

Wifi has been fine for me, I would sell the guy a laptop too. Then he can tell IT it is his personal laptop and they are hands off. I would broadcast ID and make it something that sounds like a nothing business in close proximity. Then lock it down to his laptop and your service laptop so you can service from the parking lot after the install.

flat screen VGA monitors vs CCTV monitors

You need to get your video feed to a 1:1, this doesn't matter what display you have be it CRT, LCD, plasma, DLP whatever. The problem with LCDs is the have a native resolution they should be operated at. For normal analog cameras you'll want a native resolution that is a multiple of 640x480. Ideally also equal to the interface size. This will give you the highest quality result possible. CRTs operate at many different resolutions and refresh rates, as such they are more forgiving compared to LCDs. So what is your interface size?

    Geovision

It's the Northbridge thats the problem (PCI bus controller on the motherboard). What you have found is there is no AMD motherboard with an Intel northbridge. This is basically a Via problem but nobody has the industry support Intel does for high bandwidth PCI devices.

    this is pretty funny.

paging Al Kyder... paging Al Kyder... Even the clerk couldn't keep a straight face. I do think it's odd though as they said no IDs were needed. I'm pretty sure thats not the case anymore, at least in the US that is.
  22. CMOS is actually better suited usually, thats why they have no need for auto iris lenses. My systems like this would have $4000 in the DVR, power, networking and storage alone... Keep in mind many megapixel cameras can suck GBs of storage, so be prepared for a 1 TB setup to cover a day or two with motion detection.
  23. You sooo should have gone with an Arecont 3130, it would do this out of the box. They 3130s will also work over wifi, however 1 camera swamps the radio.

    DVR and VPN setup

Just google up on VPNs, no concerns thats actually a better way of doing it. Its just more complicated to set up.
