I think it's the motherboard, whats the full part number? Something doesn't add up, MSI doesn't list a Neo F v2 that supports a P4 on their site. Not saying you don't have one just I'm having trouble finding it.

Go megapixel and save some $ Otherwise you'll spend more or about the same on a PTZ that will never be pointed at the right place at the right time. With good mounting 1 good megapixel cam can give facial ID for a very large area. Also since they are fixed cameras the tiny motors and gears in a PTZ won't fail.

Broadbandreports.com ---------------- Are you connecting with remote desktop or the Geovision remote application? If remote desktop, thats probably the issue. RDP was not designed to stream video like that, it can work however it's about the worst way to do it. Over a LAN it's not such a big deal but remotely it's alot to ask, you can render and stream 16 D1 feeds. You might refer your IT guy here so we can better understand the problem.

I need very good BNC Connectors for my Siamese Cable.. help!
CollinR replied to squale's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Geovision has also had some problems with their pigtails too, might swap them out. -
Wiring it to the DVR allows you to move multiple cameras. I also suggest you use a dual technology motion rather then PIR.

Watch the web store links. Shouldn't be any troubles with a fixed lens, WDR happens after the imager.

Prove the quality of your systems...
CollinR replied to 501's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Debatable I guess, it is open to attacks similar to analog cameras. example BNC "T" inline. However they run on a dedicated network, only the NVR is allowed access to that quality. If you are outside the CCTV subnet you must use the NVR interface to view the feeds and it will be at a radically reduced quality. Base100 supports about 3 of these badboys so forget about remote viewing this stuff. In which lane? -
physical dimensions?

I wouldn't use cameras, I would use dual technology motion detection. Then you could place fewer although more expensive cameras and get the results you desire. Is there a gaurd staff? Will there be a CCTV operator? Is this inside a tunnel?

GE Megavideo NTSC reduced version... Click for the real thing. -
Depends on what you mean by "digital"... If the camera has a digital chip internally and connects with coaxial cable, yes. It should work with any composite video input. (RCA style AV hookups, typically yellow in color) If the camera connects with Cat5 using an RJ45 connector, you are probably out of luck. Some of the cameras basically have a balun inside, however most are ethernet cameras and don't transmit an analog signal at all.

I thinnk thats video expansion for one ofthe MPEG2 cards.

Welcome Kumba! I hope you enjoy your time here.

Contact the dealer that sold you the card, they will supply the newer versions as they come.
-
You can also inverse that through post processing, his is basically like a "upconverting" DVD player. You have more TVL then you have effective pixels, this doesn't help picture quality narly as much.

As Rory mentioned, if not under warantee, you can buy the transformers without the can. Then just swap them out.

Anyone building any Linux based DVR Systems???
CollinR replied to TechJunkies's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Most use Windows XP some have XP/XPe hybrids and some are straight up XPe. If you have a lot of *nix experience I am sure the zoneminder community would appreciate your help. -

ZoneMinder is the only open source I know of. The others are usually on some RTOS so they are very hardware dependent, usually on an intergrated board. -
What are you tring to capture?
-
You just need to match the LCD to what you will be displaying. Usually you find poeple using 1600x1200 native LCD tring to display a 640x480 video feed. The result is pretty poor, you basically want the lowest native resolution display you can find nowdays. Unless of course you have multi megapixel cameras, then you can use the nicer LCDs with no troubles.

IR on the actual camera sucks, thats why you don't see many name brands doing it. Mount your IR seperately if you really must have IR, otherwise install a regular light and capture better evidence.
-
Thats what I was going to suggest, make it so they can see that the camera can't see onto their PRIVATE property. As for the street... Oh well. If the cops were right... Then it's illegal for tourists to walk down the public streets with a camera. I'm pretty sure thats not how it is.

need software for Kodicom and geovision (generic software)
CollinR replied to carlosmarin's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Why not run the Geovision software? -
You should use digital still to capture mcuh of what you discribed. You already know who is being interviewed, and where in the room they will be positioned. You would be far better off using 2 analog cameras rather then megapixel, it's totally unneeded in those tiny rooms. If it were my job... I would go Geovision, use their IO controls and mount toggles outside the interview room door. UP = in progress, record, Down = empty, no recording. You really don't need much training to teach them how to use the viewlog and burn a disk.
