^^^^ This one is the only example that I see that truely needs an LPR cam to work right. The others might make it nice but could have been done without the extreme cctv boated costs.

You need to open the other ports, more then just 80 is required.

Best recorded quality DVR card
CollinR replied to cctvfan's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Yup Geo does not support IP cams and definately not the 2.4MP that the Aver products do. Granted these cameras are not fully supported as Aver is reling on their web interface which is less then optimal. All cameras need a dedicated network, be it made of RG59 or Cat5. The maintence is the same, they basically don't mess up once properly assembled and configured. -
I can't believe the comments here.... The #1 reason why you can't get a plate is BAD ANGLE. See if any of these dealers will issue a 100% refund on these mega expensive "LPR" cameras with a FOV like that. IT WILL NOT WORK. You need to trap the vehicles and focus in on that area. The camera that gets plates will be basically worthless for anything else. EDIT: Also your DVR has to suck, 1fps and .9fps??? For good plate identification you need to be able to burst some framerate.

Try Rory's GeoView or Liveview, it's stickied. Lot of people like it better. Me personally, I want total control over the web access.
-
Well yeah thats what you really paid for, that card itself isn't worth all that much.
-
IIRC the GVHub fixes this for you as well, it's more $ then a USB>232 adapter though.

DVR not accepting harddrive? DMR Error

Thats basically all the possibilities. -
BTT I am working on this now. So if anyone knows chime in.

Or possibly multiple 180* setups. Plus I would back them up with several overhead shots from inexpensive BW bullets. If you try to go analog you will wind up installing tons of cams. It just depends on the floorplan and the bang:buck calculations.
-
I don't see the covert thing happening. Most of the places I have dealt with know exactly how many pallets fit in a trailer and how to pinwheel them to make it work. Sometimes a false wall even 4" thick would become immedately obvious. You might try to disguise it as something else but I don't know what other then possibly and overhead lamp might be plausable.

If you want to use SATA you MUST press F6 and install the controller drivers BEFORE installing Windows. It cannot be repaired after the fact.
-
Yeah they call it composite cabling, stillit's tough to find those combos. Now 2 RG6 2Cat5 and a 16/4 is no prob.

Yes Yes Yes Haven't needed support aside from becoming a channel partner. Are you a dealer or DIYer?
-
I know what you mean.

Video Management software

ak357 isn't your competitior, he is an interested dealer. -
Yes you can secure it, the easiest is to use a router as a VPN endpoint. I'm unsure as to how to hack the Geo webserver but it appears you can use Apache with it. If so ton's of stuff you can do. Also Geo has a whitelist.
-
I have it hacked, thats how I did IVB's CQC interface. Thats another perk for buying from me. You may spend a little more but who else does remote configs.
-
I often do both and I had assumed you were. Put the domes in the obvious places and the covert where people would go to hide from the domes. Out think them by forcing them into an area you have a good FOV on.
-
Agreed. You can even use BW bullets with a light filter in front. Most of the covert cams on the market suck bigtime.
-
Their stuff is good. Do you have specific questions?
-
You are better off getting the loop through and a seperate switcher. That multi-quad is crazy high for what you want. All you do it loop out only the cams you want on the second monitor and setup the switcher.
-
Most of the RG6 you find is aluminum, as such cheaper then copper.

Looking for 7 - 10 (ish) inch in-wall LCD screen.
CollinR replied to rpogge's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Look at what they use in cars... Cheap and flush mountable. -
The NV3000 is fine for 2 cameras, the NV5000 is somewhat overkill.
