Hmmm I might be able to develope this for you. Any possiblity of error info from the machines? Digital IO just an LED from the control, if advanced enough TCP packets? Basically just trip the DVR and it will back up the framebuffer say 30 or 60 seconds. This way rather then questionable motion detection you can just let it capture every error the control detects. Man I wish I had one of these several years ago, I worked with a fugawa welding robot. It moved/weighted/printed and palletized boxes. In setup that thing would send some ~30lb boxes flying. Would be great on youtube.

It can still induct current. Most PTZs are 24VAC and should not have ground loop issues. EDIT: Left out the dang NOT again.

fdisk, you can manually go through the windows directory and remote the stuff manually but it's usually not worth it.

You are better off integrating Geo IO with a real burglar alarm system. If you get something like an ademco v15p and a 7845GSM radio you'll have real deal functionality on both sides however you won't have access to the video. Of course it's pretty worthless over SMS assuming you went the modem route. You will probably need zone expander, a GVNETIO and possibly a GV IO depending on the number of actions you want performed. Then shop for budget UL listed monitoring companies that support alarmnet. IIRC NextAlarm.com can do this for something like $15/mo including the alarmnet GSM access. Make sure and tell them not to dispatch on the zones controlled by Geo or you will quickly rack up a bill from the city.

Yes you can do it that way, use multiview you shouldn't have any problems. I would still put up a cheap TV just for the customers, it's cheap and assures they don't think you are using dummy cameras. I wouldn't put all cameras on the multiquence, always keep your ace in the hole.

You might also consider an email>SMS service. Then you don't need a GSM modem and monthly payment.

Go buy a cheapo TV with RCA inputs on the back. Hang it from the ceiling and run a wire back the the TV output of the 1480.

When someone teaches my panels to talk I'll consider VoIP.

Thats what I would do, who cares if your customer can see which camera when. You just want to prove your CCTV works.

How important is FPS ?

It's difficult to compare apples and oranges like that. Never heard of the ESS1104NET. There is an EB1104NET, I don't know much about it. Appears to use MJPEG and does not come with a hard drive and doesn't support WD hard drives??? The EB1304NET is a simplex standalone unit, it can only perform one function at a time. You have to stop recording to playback. I don't sell any standalone systems so i can't help too much. The real Avermedia comparision to GV-650 would probably be the NV5000. For you as I see you seem dead set on getting a 4 channel unit, you can buy add-on channel expansions or double up the cards. -
I have found it to usually be the difference in ground between the camera and the camera's power source. Rather then the difference between the camera and recorder as one might think.

Put up a tower taller then the trees. -
In OK there is a fine that goes along with improper line seizure. I know the CS won't activate my accounts until seizure has been demonstrated. If you want it fixed post it and a pic of the inside of your demarc and the RJ31x jack inside or on the alarm's can. If this isn't done right all the bad guy has to do is knock a phone off the hook.

Horns work equally well at getting them to look into the camera. They don't have the MD effects strobes do. You should consider using PIR to trip the whole thing off.

CCTV Security Software for PC?
CollinR replied to eray's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Read the sticky atop the forum. Software for generic capture cards. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2021 -
One of my bombproof options fits between studs, so you just recess it into the wall also makes fising wires tons easier. I'm working on another much cooler one but I'm not talking till it's ready.

I build and sell both systems, it somewhat depends on your specific needs. I say you need more then 4 cameras, unless you have like 250 foot front. Do you have employees or are you the owner/operator? I have seen employees pull switches with friends using cheap ebay fakes, without video it takes weeks to figure it out. -

I would say channel count is more important the FPS for you. 4 channels is not enough, you probably need twice that. Have you had losses? If so where and how and if you don't know then how much value? -
Looks like the winner!

Don't totally disregaurd Avermedia... Geovision has many benefits but also lacks some basics. I sell both and you really need to evaluate the specific situation to determine which one really fits best. I blackball anyone selling pirate stuff, so they can have Linksys stuff for a $1 on Tues and I won't budge. If they are willing to shaft them why would you think they won't shaft you too? It's almost impossible to tell via pictures on the internet, as you noticed they just use the ones from Geo's site. I doubt they would take the time to fully knock off the packaging, real Geo hards have a holygrams on the boards. Of course once you have it in hand, it's too late. I'm glad to see you are doing the right thing.

wrong password message
CollinR replied to ayalas's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Are you using local or remote authentication? I have never seen one say wrong PW when local and entered correctly. You you know the processor speed and codec used? -
Is the system headless or doesit have a local monitor. You still have something in power saving as the screen should never shut off, I don't even use screen savers.

Sounds like you need some bait. I would love to break it off in someone who has been acting like my friend for that long and stealing from me.

One of the reason's I didn't get involved. The other is the value of that information which I don't have completely so don't PM for it.
