I've had great luck with the KT&C EX230HL1 bullet camera, with is b&w but really good in low light.
My use is outdoor monitoring of my christmas lightshow, which contains lots of gear outside for a month each year (in December).
I'm using a 4 camera DVR pc card and able to record from this camera just fine.
I just need additional coverage with more cameras. I have another IP (color) camera, a panasonic, but its really terrible in low light ... so really can't see anything after the show turns off.
I was thinking about getting a couple additional cameras of the same variety, but then saw there are some newer models (?) which seem similar, but are also in color.
Any comments on this camera:
KPC-EJ230NUWX
I noticed that the model above is only around $91 and the one I have used previously is $75 ... was wondering if the low light would be similar and get color for only $16 more ??
Also, I was confused as to what the joystick on the EJ230NUWX would be used for? Its also got some other technologies I don't know if I need or not. Color is nice during the day, but really not necessary at night when I'm most concerned about the security.
Or any other suggestions? I'm looking to spend $100 or less per camera and color is not required. My main focus is low light capable. I'm happy with the camera I have, but was wondering if anything better exists at this price point.
I have outdoor coachlights and also have some of the lights left on to keep the yard illuminated all night long, so no need for IR cams or anything.
Thanks in advance,
Scott
