So far, I have 6 wireless IP cameras each using 5v dc. I use these for wildlife, and running 240v to each with a 5v convertor for each at the camera end starts to get a bit dangerous. I'm thinking it must be possable to convert to 5v localy, and then run 5v cables outdoor. Will this work? What do I need to think of? I would run them in paralel so they all get 5v but I guess this results in lower amps to each. Would I need to increase the amps on the convertor? How sensitive are IP CCTV cameras to amps? I could also think of running 12v or 24v and converting to this at the cameras, as I have some sensors and one HD IP Cam that could use this, but I may just want the 5v cameras on this. At most the furthest camera could be 50m away. Any advice?

Hi, I need a system (NVR, DVR ???) that I can view from my work. It's not easy to find ones that are not blocked. AVTECH demos are blocked. Video Insight demos - WORK (I have asked for a quote) What other live demo's are out there? Viewable in firefox, chrome, etc. I certainly cant use anything that needs to install an unsigned ActivX. I can view video from all main video sites such as youtube, etc. I am guessing that I have to change from analog to IP cameras. But this is just a guess. Basicaly, I am after a stand alone DVR, NVR, Hybrid - i.e. not just a card. Any ideas????

Thanks, I'll see if I can find any live demos for these. It is not just a problem with unsigned activex, I have tried several demos from work with signed activX and no activeX, and it is very dificuly to find ones that work. I do think that many are are blocked.

Hei, I have a 4 channel DVR that has alarm inputs. I have only used the builtin motion detection so far, but guess that for wildlife (deer & badgers) PIR detectors may be more reliable. Wired PIR would be OK, but can someone recommend wireless PIR s for this? I guess this needs a wireless recever with wired outputs, preferably able to handle many PIR's and many alarm outputs. (I'd like to upgrade to an 8ch or 16ch system, but need to have better reliability on the detection of wildlife first). Thanks

Thanks, they look very good, but do you know if they have wired outputs for triggering DVR alarms? It mentions controling CCTV, but I just cant see any details.
