You might wanna try to setup a lan connection via power outlet adapters. A little restriction: As far as I know the power outlets have to be in the same power circuit. Check here: www.devolo.de

I finally bought the AVTECH 798A - hope my answers help others... Is the model a up-to-date one or older one ==> more or less, there is a new version currently in the funnel, but it's still state of the art- Can you set the VGA Output Resolution to1680x1050? - the manual says only selected models support that resolution ==> the AVTECH 798A does not support wide screen resolutions - Can you access all major DVR settings beeing offsite? ==> the vast majority of settings are available offsite (e.g. via videoviewer or simple internet explorer connection) - I would like to setup a monitor that shows live pictures - is it possible to exclude cameras from that, but the excluded ones still need to be recorded (show the pictures of the indoor cams and not the outdoor cameras) ==> Yes it is possible to select cameras that are hidden but will be recorded

Finally I bought the AVTECH 798A. It does not support wide screen resolutions - only normal (4:3) resolutions are supported

Hi all, i have got a AVC798A with the latest firmware and are wondering what vga output resolutions are supported. I am talking about the monitor you are able to connect to the DVR directly. In specific I would like to use a widescreen monitor (e.g. 1680x1050). In the setup menu the VGA resolutions are apparently not listed any longer - I found some manuals on the web, that showed the option in the respective menue but my menue does not. I am aware that the majority of monitors can scale the picture - nevertheless i was wondering if the DVR can cope with those monitors. Thanks, Martin
