I have a storage facility running 9 cameras outside. The 9 are made up of 2 different types of cameras. 5 x Ameba 9035DHL 4 x Ameba 9105DHL My issue is that all 4 of the 9035DHL have gone bad over time, usually after storms. I'm in New Englang. I cannot figure out why they won't give a signal. I got a BNC tester and the cables are fine. Where can I get the manual that explains all the buttons on the circuit board of the cameras and how to install. I want to fix these cameras rather than get news ones. Any ideas? If I need new ones does anyone have any suggestions? (I'm NOT buying the same camera) I tried calling Ameba to get a copy of the manual and they said they would email it but never did. My installer is conveniently MIA, I don't wan to deal with him anymore. I successfully upgraded the piece of junk Speco DVR to a Geovision PC based system Thank you in advance

I have a facility and I need to upgrade my system from a Specco DVR to a PC system. I know I need to convert my analog cameras to IP but I'm not sure what products will work. I also need some recommendations on software. I want to trial the system before I go and spend money on the whole thing. Can anyone recommend a specific PCI card that will work? I have 16 analog cameras and the system needs to be expandable, thank you in advance.

Hi guys, With your help I recently upgraded to a PC based DVR system for my storage facility. I bought the 1480A Geovision card and everything is going well. I saved over $3000. Thank you guys! My concern though is lightning. Is it possible for lightning to fry my card or damage my brand new Dell PC? Should I be installing lightning protection (ie. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.34387)

Could you guys recommend some specific models for video capture cards? Thanks again

Thanks Soundy, So all i really need is a Video Capture card and GeoVision apparently comes with the software so that makes me happy. I was looking at the two (800/1480) and aside from the price what is the main difference between them? I need to be able to record of all 16 cameras at the same time

Thanks for the info, could you recommend any that are inexpensive and easy to get? What about software, I want to trial the system before I deploy it. thank you in advance I decided to go with a PC system for three reasons. 1. The specco system in 3 years has needed to be replaced twice. 2. The users don't know how to use this system but they are PC savy. 3. I'm a software engineer and I could trouble shoot the system myself in the future.

I want to upgrade the DVR to a PC based device. The cameras currently feed into the Specco DVR with BNC type connector.
