Hi all, i'm really new to this stuff, but my dad owns a supermarket and he asked me to do some research for him on DVRs. He wants to upgrade to digital because he is tired of switching VHS tapes. He was looking at a product called Vitek VT-DVR, and he was quoted $2400. I thought this was kind of expensive, but since i'm new to this stuff, i'm not completely sure.
I'm pretty computer savvy so I was looking for a DVR that i can expand myself ( i love searching for HD deals.)
I think he just needs a simple 8 channel DVR. It won't be connected to the internet and he already has the cameras wired. He was also looking at the Vitek color camera and was quoted $216 for each.
He isn't too computer literate so a standalone option would be best. Sorry for the long post, and thank you in advance for any help! So if you guys can suggest some nice budget DVRs, i would appreciate it!
