Sanyo VCB-3524 can this be adjusted to see better at night?
Tim replied to Tim's topic in Security Cameras
rory, Do you have any IR lights that are not working sitting around, I would like to buy anything you got. The lighting fixture I mounted these in are used in emergency lights you see all over the place in stores hanging around the exit signs -

rory, These are LED's they are used in stop lights green and red everywhere, they do not burn out. Look very closely at the stop light next time your sitting at one, your can see the LED's LED's last for a very very long time, if you ever have one quit they are easy to fix and do not consume much power I leave them on 24/7 right now with no problems. HERES a picture of what I mounted them in http://home.earthlink.net/~midwestmeteor/IR.htm -

940 nm LED's are totally invisible to the eye. The 840's die glows a dim red when powered, visible in the dark if you are within 10 or 15 feet, thats why I went with 920 nm. No heat very very low current and low voltage. I'm going to be looking into Sanyo's IR camera and a better lens. THANKS EVERYBODY -
.0003 lux is lowest I have ever seen, Is this AD correct? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14957&item=5714640904&rd=1

It states 0.07 lux with F 1.2 and 0.09 lux with F 1.4 in the specs I have now. You say try F0.095 lens, will this work for me? -

My lens is a computar VARI FOCAL 2x3.5 ~ 8.0 mm F1.4 for a 1/3 " format camera auto iris. I'm using IR led's for lighting. I'm getting a great picture during the day. I'm looking down my driveway -
only 380 lines, what is the LUX? If your using it at night a very low lux will make a difference

I have used this Sony bullet camera now outside in the weather as is for 16 months now,a SONY 12 LED infrared Security CCTV Camera 420 lines 0 lux with led's on. I really didn't have anything to compare it to, I guess you can say I'm learning.I found out its a great camera http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5708390539 I thought I would upgrade so I bought a Sanyo B/W CCD Camera model VCB-3524 http://www.camerasuperstore.com/sanvc12ccdbw1.html with 570 lines so I could also use a zoom lens with it and ended up buying a H10Z0812AMS (COMPUTAR®) is a CCTV lens monofocal zoom, 1/2" format (C-Mount) 8 - 80mm f/1.2 10X with spot filter. It features an 8-80 mm focal length and a maximum aperture ratio of 1:1.2. Well was I surprized the Sanyo camera does not work well at all. I can't see very well at night with it, almost not at all and during the day it blooms with too much white and looks faded or washed out with poor picture quality. Can someone here tell me what it is I'm doing wrong? Is there something I need to adjust or do different? Thank You, Tim

B/W Sony bullet camera or B/W Sanyo VCB-3524 - Whats wrong?
Tim replied to Tim's topic in Security Cameras
I set the A.I (auto iris) lens selector switch to the down postion, this camera had a manual lens, so I assume the other position would be for auto iris. it made a big difference. The two pots on the lens 1. level remote 2. ALC remote please see the link here, these are big picture files and will take awhile to see them http://home.earthlink.net/~midwestmeteor/camera.htm Are these the pots you refer to? They are down in the lower right hand of the first picture. The other picture is the Sanyo it shows the A.I switch and the E.I electronic iris on switch I think Thank you for you help, Tim P.S. I have a C mount adapter, picture was without that Also it did state that it was a sony chip, wasn't clear on brand of camera -
Thanks, I will get back to you with a report on this.

I know someone who bought this today, it should be a month or two before I get any feedback on it.

Is anyone tried any products by iVista? http://www.inetcam.com/products/packages/index_smallbusiness_main.html
-
Yes they are vertical streaks, it shows up when camera pointed at a bright area.
-
Got the C mount adapter today, it will now focus, I needed to set two switches inside the camera to get the iris to work right. You guys did a good job getting me straightened out. I have do have another question, when I point the camera to a white house outside, the picture streaks with white around the windows of the house and other object, WHY does it do that? When the sun went down there were no streaks of light.

I think your betting right, I don't have a C mount adapter, the manual you refered me to points this out. I want to say you people here have been lots of help to me here. Rory bless your heart hope you win the lottery both of you. THANK YOU, Tim

The camera is a Sanyo VCB 3524, I see two screws on the side of the camera, one labeled Adj lock, the other is labeled flange back. is the flange back the adjustment your talking about? This is a 1/2 lens Tim

No matter what I do with the focus when its zoomed in, it will not focus. It will only focus at 95% wide, and only there will it focus at that spot no where else Thank You , Tim
