also i forwarded my DVR's TCP port, and HTTP port on my fios router. The install guys did enter my dvrdns host address into my fios router under dynamic dns setting.
-
what settings do i pick on the no-ip page.
-
Yeah it has the no ip option but it also asks me to put in info for server info under ddns settings. On the no ip site I picked the dns host a setting but it also asks for IP address. When I get home I will take a screen shot of the settings it's asking for. Thanks

Thanks so much for the offer. But I have some decent computer knowledge and was hoping you could just tell me where to look.

Ok another question, now I can hook the power of the mic directly into the cctv power panel right? Because my other mic is spliced together with my cameras power. Thanks!

Ok I have my IC realtime Max DVR setup with 4 cameras. I want to add a mic like this http://www.active-vision.com/Microphone_p/aca-mic03.htm. What do I need? I already have 22G wire already run to the dvr can I use that instead of cat 5, and do i need baluns? Thanks much guys!

Thanks much guys! Sorry for all the questions. Would this [edit by mod - store link removed, sorry no store links allowed] work to hook the mic in my first post up to my dvr and CCTV power panel?
-
Those baluns are designed for video - they MAY work with audio, but I wouldn't bet on it. You want a "dynamic" mic. I've never seen a mic of any type that comes with a BNC connector, though - most use either an RCA or a tip-sleeve or tip-ring-sleeve type connector (like a headphone plug). Professional ones use locking XLR connectors. There are adapters available that will let you connect just about anything to your BNC inputs, through a combination of adapters, if necessary. When I had my system installed they installed the mic from my link above, and they put a video balun on one end and one to connect it to the dvr. Also does it make a difference that im using 22G wire?(phone wire I think)

Are their any mics that do not require power? That connect to a BNC input on a DVR? Thanks!

Is anyone familiar with the spec color motion detector camera? I don't like the front where the camera is, it's curved down so it wasn't easy to mount. I was wondering if I could buy a different front face with a flat front. Thanks much!

I'm looking to buy an 8 channel DVR and 3 motion detector cameras and one bullet camera for outside. I need someone to tell me which DVR and cameras are the best brands. I also want a DVR with remote access from a PC, Blackberry, iPod touch. Thanks much!

It's a IC Realtime max 8 DVR with 2 Sony and 1 speco(I don't like specos design) motion detector cameras and one bullet camera outside. So far it's pretty good, I was expecting higher quality out of the cameras, but I think my expectations were to high.

Thanks for the reply. The 22g wire I have in the wall for the mic has no connections on the ends. My audio connection on my dvr is a bnc and so is the mic. I've seen baluns with bnc and power on one, would the make it easier for my to connect?

Is there a free Blackberry app to view my IC realtime Max8 dvr cameras? I know they have a $30 app, but I dont want to pay for it. I found a free app on the itouch that is the same interface as IC realtimes APP. Thanks much!

Anyone like IC Realtime? The Max 8 DVR looks pretty good. Anyone know how to buy equipment from them? Thanks.
