    EVO vs Iphone 4

    "GIT! GIT!"
  2. Ohhohoho... I'm still a noob in this realm, but I think I can speak for the guys when saying $150 for an IP camera is crap, and $150 for a PTZ is even scarier. Add about 4 to 5 times that price for a decent one. Funny story, i bought this camera at a garage sales YEARS ago, $20. so I looked it up. It was an IP PTZ - LOW quality, but it was cool to use. Set it up in my room just to see what it would do, took some pics of it, put it on ebay, I got $250 for the old, used, IP PTZ. I don't speak for them, but when they hit you back with some numbers you better be prepared.

    59 vs 6

station z? z being a variable or is that the name? any 18awg wire should do i suppose, but I'd like to get an assload, if that is a measurable term. 6500ft to be approximately exact.

    59 vs 6

haha run dont walk. love it. No i was tlaking about using the cat 5 for ONE pair supplying the power to the housing and the camera... so.. no... haha, i need to find cheap wire then, excuse me, inexpensive.

    base on experience.

It's me again! So based on experience i was looking for some recommendations. I was looking at the CNB-bbm 24f for my project but I want to make sure I make the right choice. Securing a trailer park in washington - rain, snow, humidity. There are street lights, but not many. I need a decent camera for low light and day so ICR (is that correct?). The videos of the CNB with the monalisa chip looked nice. 600color 650 BnW. cars will be driving down the small roads, and there will be lights on the porches, windows, etc. think of a mobile home park and I'm sure you can picture my obstacles. Are my choices a good pick? License plate cams - Any reco's on those?

    59 vs 6

wiki picked up the tab - CATV rg6 is copper coated, yes? The wire I have is SOLID copper, and yes $45 for 500ft. I haven't tested the resistance yet, but i wanted to when the spool was still whole. If i missed something let me know. thank you.

    59 vs 6

i just read "You could either use RG6 Coax (NOT CAT TV cable) Copper Solid Center and Copper Outer Braid" RG6 Cable tv? is there another? i figured there would be rg6 copper braid, i just found it, and is it WORTH it to use copper braid of aluminum braid?

    wire loom?

What do you guys use to cover the wires from the wall/junction to the camera housing? I would assume some sort of looming but I've seen the flexible conduit with compression twist on ends with threads and wondered if perhaps this is the item. I've never held a housing so I can't exactly finger it out for myself. Thanks again guys. I know I'm asking a lot and specific as well so I hope it doesn't bother.

    cnb internals vs

ok, so I'm not sure if i see this right, but what's the difference between the CNB bbm-24f and the bbm-21f? They both have the monolisa inside and are ICR. Thank you

    a little confused

Thanks guys I've got two other threads running as well, so i hope i dont confuse anyone here. We're looking to protect a mobile home park. there is one group that is allegedly trafficing drugs and even out in the open so we're going with license plate cameras on the two entrances and looking for clear recording and cameras to do the rest. if I'm going down the wrong path, by all means set me straight. for the particular trailer i think I'll need somewhere in the range of a 9mm lense.
  14. Hey guys, I'm new here but I'm a little confused. I'm looking for a dvr and it is pretty important that I record in 30fps per channel - so when I see the dvrs list the total fps (for i need 16 ch *30 = 480) is it listing those rates in the lowest quality and worst compression? what is d1 vs h.264 does the resolution make a difference? This is all analog and I'm looking to get the cnb - bbm21f because of the ICR and it looks pretty good on their site. I've been reading as much as I can on here and thought cnb would be choice because, you all seem to like them and I believe the quote was "because of you soundy" that made me laugh because I've seen forums follow one product based on value and reliability. If anyone has a suggestion on something decent with remote view capabilities I'd appreciate. Thank you.
  15. Hi everyone, I'm sure you've heard or read it before but there are so many search options and my questions become narrowed down with every answer so if you can bear with me I'll try not to sound like an idiot, or worse, a bot. I'm looking to do a 12 camera setup, all outdoor. A) I need IR (i'm aware there are on cam led and led banks to mount externally, like at theme parks when you see them glowing in complete dark - i like to search for them with my cell camera). B) The budget will be comprised off of your suggestions. C) Cam angles can vary from wide to far so I can build need off of suggestion. D) DVR or PC DVR? E) running over 700ft - rg6 or 59? Baluns (can I make these?) F) What concerns should i have regarding impedence, temperature (this is for Washington) G) Ball park figure off your suggestions. This doesn't have to be the best but we need to see license plates from 50ft away. Thank you for reading, and replying. I understand these probably have all been answered before, and I'm sure someone will post a GIF stating that ( " title="Applause" /> ). I'm not new to forums but I always tend to ask things differently so people become confused, my bad. Thanks again.
