    IR Illuminator for Toshiba Camera

So an IR illuminator would not work?
  2. I have a couple Toshiba Ik-WB15A cameras and they are excellent for the price but they don't work very well at night time. Does anybody know if an IR illuminator will help with this camera? I'm not sure if IR illuminator or white light illuminator will work for this camera. Can someone please advise? Thanks!

    Axis M7001 Covert Kit

Hi, Has anybody use this covert kit yet? I like the fact that it's really small but not sure how the picture quality would be, can someone please share any information on this product? What about connecting an analog camera to it, would any analog camera work or only certain ones? If an analog camera is use with it, can I view the video from my iPhone? I've been googling this product but wasn't able to find answers to any of these questions so I thought I would ask in here first before dropping $400 for one. Thanks!
  5. thewireguys - The Basler is a pretty small camera but it does not include the lens. With the lens I think it will be close to 5" long which isn't bad but still bigger than the Sony. How is the picture quality Basler BIP-1300C-DN? Can the video be viewed through a mobile phone, like an iPhone?
  6. Huviron - The MPix13922WIR looks like a really nice camera from the demo but it's no way smaller than the Sony. The Sony SNC-CH210 is only 1 3/4" by 3 3/4". How much does the 13922 go for?
  7. I'm looking for a very small IP Camera with the following features - does one exist? 1. Power over Ethernet 2. As small as possible 3. Day and Night mode or be able to view black and white in very low light area. I want to use this camera as a nanny cam, possibly have a few of them through the house. The smallest I've seen is the Sony SNC-CH210, does anybody have experience with this camera? How is the quality? I don't really need HD quality, just good enough to see what's going on. My house currently has Ethernet running pretty much everywhere throughout the house so PoE is ideal. I also have a dedicated computer setup as a DVR so it makes a lot of sense for me to find something that is IP based. If you know of any cameras that fit these descriptions then please list them for me. Thanks in advance!
  8. buellwinkle - how did you get the Axis M1114 to be so clear? I cannot get mine that clear from the zoom and focus adjustment. It still has a lot of noise around it. Did you have to loosen the silve plate and do some adjustments there?
  9. buellwinkle - i didn't get a chance to fine tune it since died while I was on a 3 day trip out of town. I tried everything including resetting, updating the firmware and factory reset but nothing seem to get the camera back on. I gave up and decide to return it.
  10. thanks for your fast replies! thewireguys - from your experience with Arecont, how much more difficult is it to setup compared to the Axis and the ACTI? Does anybody know of an affordable IR illuminator that will work with my Axis p1344? Axis makes one but I don't know about paying $500 for one.
  11. Hi, I recently bought an Axis p1344 and an Acti 1231 cameras. The Axis p1344 performance and picture quality are fairly good, the Acti on the hand sucked. I'm not sure if I got a defective one or not but the picture quality is awful. Night time is even worse, it's really dark and grainy. And after 4 days of being on, the camera stopped working. I can still get to the webpage but no picture show up. I've tried resetting back to factory default but that didn't help so I'm returning it. So now I'm looking for a second camera. I'm still debating if I should get another P1344 or something else. My budget is $800. I'm currently looking at the Arecont Vision cameras, they seem to offer a lot for the price. Does anybody have any experiences with these cameras? Are they compatible with NVR software like milestone and Exacqvision? Thanks in advance for your inputs! Nick
  12. Thanks everyone for giving me your inputs, I really appreciate it! I will read more on all the software you recommended. buellwinkle - how does the ACTI ACM-1231 compare with the Axis p1343 as far as image quality goes? I know the Axis cameras are more expensive but if the quality is there then I don't mind paying a little extra. Buying cheaper cameras is a waste of money if the image is poor and I can't catch the person due to poor image quality. Thanks again, Em
  13. Hi, I'm a newbie and hoping someone could help me out. My car was vandalized in front of my driveway during the middle of the night the other day so I'm hoping to setup some kind of surveillance system to hopefully catch the person doing it if it ever happen again. I want to setup security system with 2 cameras that can record with motion dection and the ability to record at night. I'm been looking at the Axis p1343 & p1344 cameras. Does anybody have any experience with these cameras that would like to share their knowledge with me? Does anybody have any recommendation for my situation? I would like to have some kind of recording software for these cameras as well. I know most companies charge extra for their recording software but Axis provides a software to record for one camera and then you can buy extra licenses to support multiple cameras. Is Axis a good software for this application or should I go for some third party software? Please list all software that you would highly recommend. Thanks, Em
