  1. Must be very impressive if you hide the manufacture's name. It doesn't matter. I don't want anyone to be linking any of my stupid actions to my employer. Last thing I want is a web site with my name on the front of it under any title that involves the worth "Theft" I'm not here selling my product, I'm not here promoting my product. I simply, and not-that-often post when I have a piece of information that no one else seems to know.
  2. Most Casino's I have dealt with are stuck in their old ways and do not see any benefit in moving to IP. They have the mentality "If I want to see that, I simply put up another camera that focuses specifically on it".
  3. Thanks. Exactly what I thought. But I still work for a manufacturer that has more systems in casino's than any other manufacturer " title="Applause" /> But common, this isn't the place for gaming advice..
  4. MMMMMMMMMMMM . DID you get help in one of your posts or did you find someone local ??? is that just a guess ??? I work for a manufacturer.. As you decided to search my posts I think you would of Figured that out. I was searching the internet for information on the competition, I don't think calling the local guy really applies in that situation...
  5. Where do you live where you think there isn't an abundance of trunk slammer companies already? I think you are probably wrong on the fact there is no competition in the area.
  6. Let me give you the best advice so far: Find someone local to deal with.... 1. I would say most, if not all of the people in this thread have never worked in a gaming setting. 2. If they have, they would of walked away from the thread when you said your budget was 15K USD. 3. No one is going to ship anything from North to South America for anything even remotely close to your budget. Shipping on *JUST* 10 cameras was 735 from CA-USA to Arouca. 4. Looking over Trinidads extensive gambling laws I find it odd that there is no requirements for cctv. There typically aren't 56 page Acts on gambling with out some type of enforcement. Call the local guy who has done all the work at every other casino in the area and contract him to get the work done...

    iP110 Remote connection issues

I assume you are not trying to connect to the 5100, as it is a dated piece of equipment that will probably never (with out the SM5200) be able to send video over the internet. I am not sure that the IP110 is even compatible with Pelco Mobile. Its not part of the Sarix platform, so I doubt it will work... What version of Firmware are you running? Have you been able to get it to work inside the network via Wifi?
  8. I'm not the most advanced on the technical side of things, and I know we just released the IP version of the Espirt, but I have no clue how they went about it. Do you want to control this via a VMS or Keyboard? My idea would be to bring 2wire controls to the Espirt, then follow that line through to the controls on the camera. Although I haven't been inside of one of these monsters in quite some time, not sure if you can fish one through. My biggest concern is that once you remove the analog camera the system simply wont boot. Why not power the camera through the same power source as the Espirt, then run a control wire from the Espirt to the Camera (assuming you can fish a wire through) The PTZ should pickup the PTZ, and Zoom should pickup the Zoom....
  9. Hey guys, need a little help here. Going into a presentation next week against DVTel, and I know absolutely nothing about it. Do they have any type of recurring fees? (Optional or not) or they charge per client seat? Not sure if anyone knows anything about them.... Thanks Chris
  10. Have you already pulled the camera out? The PTZ functions of the Espirt still functions? For some reason I think you are going to run into a jam with controlling the espirt case at once location, and the zoom of a IP camera at another location.
  11. No, it is much more integrated than just a camera inside of a case. If you don't need the zoom lens controls and require the dust proof housings w/pan and tilt why not just use something like the PT1280P and add a E706. But, to specifically answer your question, Set Preset 51 - Wiper On, Call Preset 51 - Wiper Off. I haven't seen an IP camera that relies on an auto-focus mechanic work behind a wiper yet. Wipers smear dirt over the lens, the camera tries to auto-focus and often you are left looking at the smears.

    PELCO HELP

I am going to go back to what I was saying before, rather than buying the DMR you could of picked up a KBD300a. That keyboard will interface directly with the DVR via USB cable. All these wire problems then go away, you still have keyboard function, and you can sort of use the KBD to drive the Control Point software. Just my 2c, seems a lot easier and you gain additional functions.

    PELCO HELP

There are a few issues doing it that way, like you do not have functionality of the keyboard on the DS box. Now I know you can use the KBD5000 with DS, and now the KBD300, but I do not know if the USB adapter works on the 9760KBD. You may want to give pelco a quick buzz to find out. This would allow you to hook the keyboard up through a USB port to the DS, and still control your cameras as well as use the keyboard to navigate around the software. I just don't know if the kid works on the 9760

Pelco Security camera placement software- FREE!

Pelco also has another amazing tool when it comes to systems designs. It is their 3D Cad Tool that can be found : http://www.pelco.com/sites/global/en/sales-and-support/downloads-and-tools/tools/3d_camera_design_tool.page Its so sweet, if you import your auto cad drawing into the application you can show your customer the exact views of each camera. Just a word of advice remember to set the height of the drawing, otherwise things get out-of-control crazy.

    PELCO HELP

You have the CM9760-KBD tied directly to the camera, or is it going through a matrix?
  16. Well if you are running 7.2 you are not quite up to date. ftp://ftp.pelco.com/SupportSoftware/DigitalSENTRY/DigitalSENTRY%20Install%20Software/DS%207.4/NVR%20-%20DVR/ 7.4 has several fixes, make sure you also update your client. The DSSRV is a beast, and your 5 cameras won't be slowing it down. But a few questions. 1. Are you using both NIC cards? 2. Are you getting any delayed / errors when trying to connect? 3. What is happening on your switch every 5 minutes to cause the lag? (I would start trouble shooting here, as 99% of the DSSRV issues I run into are the network)

    Pelco Endura Problems

I think you are missing the point. When you have a "random" outage, and the NSM kicks into fail over mode you can lose "Random" video. But you have to understand that you are looking at a slide from a ppt that is way out dated. Are you running NVR's or are you running NSM's. They will react to the situation very different. Its almost like I am talking about a Boat, but you are pointing to the manual of a car telling us the boat needs a new tire.
  18. Beat me to it... not a good idea! Also, anyone call call the local Graybar / Anixter / ADI and get better than dealer pricing... While Pelco doesn't sell direct, almost any of these guys will.
  19. This isn't even kind of true. Over the past 3 years Pelco has seen a price reduction of up to 70% on some of its equipment. It is priced 5% lower than the 3 "Top Selling" IP cameras on the market. Problem is people never want to compare apples to apples with Pelco, its always someones entry level $500 DVR vs Endura. Digital Sentry = Free 8 cameras + Free with current promotion. Which software vendor is also free? Analog Line - Starts off at $100 MSRP , but no one pays MSRP, at minimum you should be 20-50% off of MSRP. IP Line, Standard Deff - $600, Megapixil - $800, at MSRP once again. 100 camera system, 64 Analog, 33 IP 1.3MP, 18TB, Unlimited Clients, NO recurring fee = About 45K MSRP. And if you are the partner first program not only do you get your standard discount but you can register the project for another 4% off. Now I cant argue that it is the cheapest brand, but as far it is one of the most supportive, easiest technical support, fastest shipping, easiest returns, and some really great promotions that make the equipment even less expensive. If you havent looked at Pelco in a while, I suggest you check it out.

    Pelco Endura Problems

That should only happen in your backup pool, its happening in your normal storage? That isn't normal.
  21. This is a modified version of this scam: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-security/logmein123-scam-received-a-call-saying-my/b57b5f1d-d99a-4b3f-9ecf-e0770464190b
  22. I don't know if any of you have seen this yet, but it is a pretty impressive view. The fixed cameras are the Pelco Surevision (im10lw10-1E) and the PTZ is the spectra HD (s5118-PG-E0) Check out the cameras at night, I was really impressed. Just wanted to share! http://www.theadellwatertower.com/?page_id=37 -C

    switch thoughts

honestly i like the UTC (interlogix's owners) switch better for a couple of reasons (comparing apples to apples). 1. it's like 30% cheaper than the Cisco 2. ALL of their switches are Hardened, meaning i can stick it in the worst environment known to man and it will be fine (well within reason, not sure how well it would work in a volcano). 3. IMO the performance is faster on the UTC than it is on the Cisco (more cameras connected) 4. it's not a Cisco This isn't quite right, not all of their switches are hardened. Just the 8pt and 7pt. But I couldn't agree more with the rest, the Layer2+ features have everything we need to support multicast across Vlans with out the overhead we don't need in switches designed for data. -Chris

    RS-485 with Pelco DVR

I believe both support 485 through the RJ45 ports on the back. I am 100% sure the DX8000 does. I am about 90% on the 5100. Haven't seen a lot of 5100's in my time, they were phased out before they ever really got big. -C

    Pelco PTZ camera

That would be a Spectra 3, Color / Black and White dome drive. Are they good? They were king of the jungle their time, several years ago. They do have 485, as well as Coaxatron. Do they have any value? Sure, its a Spectra and its made by Pelco... I would guess, and it is a guess at best that the value is between $200-$500. Oddly enough we are finding that the value is rising on some of the older Pelco equipment, for example if you have a Monitor card for some of the older Matrix, they are selling well over 10X what they sold for new.
