Samsung iPolis router setup and mobile config
theruckman replied to theruckman's topic in Computers/Networking
Also wanna make it very clear this a PC running Win7 Pro running Samsung Software, NOT a stand alone DVR...still hoping you have some more input. Right now I am trying this: cam1 http: 1024 dev: 4520 cam2 http: 1025 dev: 4521 UPDATE: Listen ALL the SNO-7080 work, the SNV do NOT....Samsung swears that is not an issue....just connecting the dots....ugh what a pain -
Samsung iPolis router setup and mobile config
theruckman replied to theruckman's topic in Computers/Networking
so do all cams get a different port (ie: 4520, 4521, 4522...etc..) What are the crucial router ports to keep open....maybe I wasn't clear, I can access one even SEVERAL cams just fine, the SNV's wont come up though....only difference on the SNO's is 4520, 4521, 4522...etc...thx -
Prepare yourself for a book but hoping someone can help me. I stumbled into a client with 4 SNV-7080R's and 7 SNO-7080R's. Having no experience with them or the custom built PC running iPolis software, but decent network knowledge I was able to get them all online locally no prb. Using iPolis mobile on Android or iPhone LOCALLY all cams come right up, no prbs. I port forwarded 4520-4530 (4520, 4521, 4522...etc...for each cam IP) and 80 to cover the 11 cams, offsite ALL SNO's show up fine but the 3 of the 4 SNV's won't. Actually Samsung TS was stumped I could get all the SNO's to show up offsite with all of their HTTP ports assigned 80. Here is the config I have all of them, see pic as well: HTTP 80 Device Port 45xx RTSP port 554 Web Streaming port 45xx Silverlight policy 943 Again I have all the cams setup just like this, can look at all the SNOs them offsite right now as we speak but not the 3 SNVs.....how in the world is the ONE SNV showing up? The pic shows the 1st cam config is shown in my pic, I have ALL the cams setup just like this except the DP and WSP are one number off of course. Have tried all the firmware upgrades...etc...all that stuff, Samsung helping....Samsung swears I need to do each cam different ports..etc... (like 4520, 554, 80 then 4521, 555, 81...so on) Hoping someone can help...I can even give a static to router or camera login...etc....temp pw...etc...please help thx Scott

Samsung experience?
theruckman replied to akelley's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
So I have a client building a house, I have prewired it for these SNV-7080R cams, homeran ALL cam locations with CAT6, only about 4 cams so far, longest run is maybe 150ft? -they are a security company of some sort and install them (for some reason they are having me wire/install -I am NOT complaining). I was talking to his son on the phone, he claims to know alot about installing these cameras, and he is telling me u CANNOT homerun these cams but but have to daisy chain them in a big loop back to the switch??? That sounds ridiculous but just curious if anyone had an opinion on this...my first impression looking @ the specs of the camera was homerun and will be punched down to a big POE switch OR even a POE injector on each.....whatever the case, home running them did NOT seem like a big deal and isn't it typically the best thing to do...he said there are "distance issues" on them for the voltage drop...would love any thoughts asap...meeting this guy in the AM thx Scott -
Acquiring some coax lightning protection adapters that go inline with the coax....was assuming placing these close as possible just before the actual cameras? OR closer to the DVR? again seems like better near the camera thx Scott
-
YES! that is the DVR.....I don't have a huge issue use the Network Client, just a matter of finding the software for it. thx Scott
-
thx! will try this....if anyone knows of solid "Network Client" download links, please let me know. BTW, WHY does their dumb manual say it can be accessed via IE if you can't? Funny thing is I installed about 4 of these back in like 2005 and was able to access via IE....weird...thx
-
yea, I meant I just picked it up as in barely used, been sitting on shelf for a long time I guess. Anyway, most DVR's I have installed (I'm a tech - but installing this in my house) u just go to the IP address the DVR is assigned by the router and all is cool. I actually think the Client software that came with it would prb work great but the CD will not load it. BUT ALSO even better would be to just access it via IE. at the very least can u link me to any DVR client software that may work with this DVR? thx Scott
-
Just picked up one of these used. Works great but cannot access via network. Any help out there? Shows up on Network but gets no where, port forwarded all that jazz thx Scott
-
Is it worth even trying to replace it? What is that or just replace the cam? thx Scott
-
Well I don't think they carry the model anymore but it looks alot like this one: http://####### tell me what u think AND BETTER YET, if China is so bad, where should I buy from.....its pretty hard to find any camera NOT from China BUT u would know better than me......thx Scott

Bought 2 pretty nice long range IR Varifocal cams from supercircuits, installed early 2008 and they are now basically black and white, ALL the color is gone from them. They HAVE been in the sun all day. Is this TYPICAL of cams out in the sun all day? Do I have a complaint here? I mean it just seems like they went quick. Pic is still excellent, just no color, color has gradually faded away, not all @ once. thx Scott

Are all 6 of my camera's DEAD after storm?
theruckman replied to theruckman's topic in Security Cameras
Ilkie, While all what u have said is TRUE just want to make clear that I have done quite a few ext cam sys, NEVER had a prb with lightning, and ALWAYS have used a surge protector. Since I never had issues, I figured I was doing as much as I can. I have certainly never slapped a DVR in and plugged a cam into the wall and left a bill. anyway, live and learn Scott
