I just bought a "B" stock DS2P (DVTX) but it has v3.1 firmware. I need 4.x firmware.
I've looked at the instructions but it's not obvious which set of instructions to follow FIRST:
DS2_DVTX_NetVu_App_40_06.zip - DS2 DVTX NetVu Connected Application and web page upgrade
or
DS2_NetVu_Converter.zip - Application to convert DS2 DVTX to support NetVu Connected Firmware Upgrades
The "Converter" approach seems to imply that I need to provide S/N, Username, syscode to DM and get an "unlock" code back. Why all the secrecy?
Also, when I did try to do the "DS2_DVTX_NetVu_App_40_06.zip" approach, I get an error on the FTP upload about "Winsock Error 10061 - Connection Refused". The instructions provided here don't say anything about this (the FTP upload for the "Converter" seems to run fine).
Anyway, somewhat confusing instructions for this. I'm also doing this on a "spare" drive that I've formatted FAT32 and copied the existing drive's file contents as a backup plan in case of problems with the firmware upgrades. Can I accomplish this without the whole username, syscode thing? Maybe just copy a file set to the proper directories?
In moving to the v4.x firmware, are any non-disk items (FLASH for instance) upgraded?
