Let me know how well the controlling of that low budget PT mount goes. I will find a cheap IP camera that can control it, so I can play.

I'm running a demo of ACC enterprise and have a Sanyo HD4600 I am trying to set motion detection in a small area. Either inclusion, or exclusion. I can make the changes and save, but when I go back they are gone. I can change the duration before and after and it will stay, just the areas wont. What am I missing? I have an alarm set for motion and it tests ok, but even with the world moving, I never get an alert. Is this an issue with non Avigilon cameras, or me? I have set several different systems and this is the only one I have failed to get motion alerts working on.

Avigilon Motion Detection
EarlT replied to EarlT's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think the issue with Avigilon and some external email is the requirement for a ssl connection over a different port. (often 465). There is no provision for ssl built in yet, but ak357 says Avigilon is aware of it and perhaps the fix will be in place in the new version. -
Avigilon Analong to IP encoder
EarlT replied to EarlT's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The good news is that the Avigilon encoder is less than half the cost of the Axis Q7404 encoder, and if you do keep it, it only uses one Avigilon license. Best, Christopher Yep it is a decent price. I just find myself looking at IP cameras, and thinking I should just ditch my analog cams and go forth. Not knowing if I am going Avigilon or not, I ordered another Sanyo cam today. -
If I get an Avigilon ENC-4port to use during my eval of the software, will there be any resale value if I opt to something other than Avigilon? To be honest, I like their software ok, but until they have iPhone support, it's of no value to me.

Yes but you need the enterprise version I believe. On my Sanyo hd4600 I can control the schedule there. -
Avigilon Analong to IP encoder

It will be nice to see the upgrade. Any thoughts on the encoder resale value? Don't want to waste money for something I might not need, but I do want to "evaluate it" along with the software. -
Avigilon Motion Detection

I now get emails when the camera has motion. Just wish I could attach a picture to the email. No good getting an email if your out and about and can't see what's up. -
Avigilon Motion Detection

I putzed around with alarm settings in my camera and set it to detect and set one area up. Now if I zoom the camera ACC will pop up an alert window. Still no email, but I set a rule up to zoom the camera to a preset when motion is detected and that works. I get emails when the camera disconnects and stuff, so I am close. I hope 4.8 hits soon! I want to give it a good workout before my trial expires. Gotta see that iPhone support work before I bite. -
Avigilon Motion Detection
EarlT replied to EarlT's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That's not the problem. I can get it to send me emails all day long by pushing the test button. Not a local ISP either. Using ATT.Yahoo.com. I think my problem is limited to not being able to get it to recognize motion on the camera. -
Avigilon Motion Detection
EarlT replied to EarlT's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have and it works. I mean I have set the camera up to email me on motion. I'm using the analytics. Is Avigilon trying to set the camera up, not what the software sees? -
Anyone have example pics from CNB's megapixel cameras?

Can I use a IP camera in my car?
EarlT replied to the lemming's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If you have a plug in hybrid car, then you could use a wired camera and Siamese a network cable on the power. Just curious why not mount it on the house and get footage when your away? -
Is that limited to some models or all box(ish) models? I am thinking of picking up one of the H.264 zoom boxes to compare against my Sanyo HD4600. It would be nice to have that on a PTZ mount. I have a demo of their software and am working through the various features slowly.

I think ONVIF will take care of the interconnectivity issues. It's just like every other technology that consumers find a use for. It will eventually be where even the high quality camera makers will want to open their market to consumers. It all comes down to $$$$.
-
How about a focused white light shining across their path at head height. Not sure how little light you could add to bring the color in well, but my 24VF shows good color with very little light.
-
Lets just narrow one aspect of Standardization to interconnectivity. If every camera would work with every dvr/nvr with basic ability. Im talking just a basic view and record capability. The different companies could use Features to make them stand apart.
-
I think the number one issue with HDIP or IP cameras in general is the need for standardization.
-
What IP camera are you using? I am tempted to get one just to play.
-
Aren't you going to lose the color with IR anyway?

Finally, software that can make a $39 camera show all that detail they normally miss. -
Avermedia Tech Support Links Anyone?
EarlT replied to smartboy's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hmm, I never have issues finding them or with their support. They are always there and helpful to me. http://www.averusa.com/surveillance/techsupport.aspx -
I just stumbled across a Cisco (linksys) PVC2300 that seems to have PT control built in like that Acti. Anyone know of others that have that capability built in?
-
Is it just me, or do these Sanyo HD cameras stand alone in their quality at their price range. I keep looking around but always seem to come back to them for the price and quality. I need to get one or two more megapixel cameras but don't want to risk spending more and being disappointed.

Where for $600? Is there a can that will fit this snugly? PM me pls. That $600 number is more for a HD3300. Trust me, if I could find HD4600's for $600, I never would have posted. I would own several and be happy. That said, anyone else hearing Sanyo is lowering it's prices?
