    help on GeoVision PTZ setup

Yeah, in addition to Pelco-D.. tried with both Pelco-P an Pelco-D KT&C PTZ. Figured it'd be one of the last two because lowest baud rate on Pelco-P is 9600. Alas, none of those worked. there is a message on the PTZ set up window that says, "To be compatible with early verions, the corresponding address of Pelco camera in the system should be Pelco camera address minus one. For example, when the Pelco camera address is 2, the system address is 1." This is verified even when you select camera two, the PTZ control automatically changes to Addr: 1

    help on GeoVision PTZ setup

So this is what we got on the feedback from one of the cameras (camera does do a self test panning around, so at least i know there isn't anything wrong mechanically): Camera S/N: 2060461 Camera ID: 002 Protocol: Pelco-PD BaudRate: 2400BPS Model: S052N Version: V0.22MG When trying to manipulate this specific camera, I'm making sure I'm at address 1 and I've chosen Pelco-D, baud rate 2400, COM1. Unfortunately, no go. I really appreciate the help again. Wondering if anyone else has any other thoughts.

Thanks, the screenshots of our setup are posted above, we are on COM1. I can try COM2 if it'll help though. I'll try to give it a shot tomorrow.

    help on GeoVision PTZ setup

Sorry it's been awhile since I've gotten back to you. The electricians at the remote site just gave me feedback on your suggestions. They verified the DIP switches and they match the old camera. They also double checked that the new camera is the same model as the old camera. The RS485 wires were checked and swapped around too. It didn't make a difference. In regards to the COM settings, the last settings were just set to COM 1, but what could I use to verify the right settings? Would that be in the manual of the PTZ camera itself? Thanks again...

    help on GeoVision PTZ setup

Thanks for the response on this. The camera is in one of our remote locations like I said, so I'll send them this feedback and see what they have to report back on. I'll let you know as soon as I find something out from them. Thanks again!

    help on GeoVision PTZ setup

...sure glad I found this msg board. GeoVision support can really only go so far, unfortunately. I'm a bit of a noob on the setup of PTZ cameras in Geovision. We're running 8.3, GV-600 card. The electrician at one of our remote sites let me know they replaced a PTZ camera. The camera they just installed is a Sony Super HAD PTZ, model number CAMCCD55NV. I sent him the list of support PTZ cameras, based off of information from the Geovision site. That specific camera isn't on that list, but he told me they used the part number/model information from the old PTZ camera to look for a new one. The old PTZ camera definitely worked. We get the video feed, but can't move the camera. I'm making sure to switch to the right address for the camera (addr: 0 in this case) Here are the settings: - PTZ Device Setup is checked and set for "Pelco Dome" (what it was always set to) - Com Port 1 / Baud Rate 9600 / PT Speed 1 / Protocol D / Max Preset 16 / Activate - Normal I've tried choosing a different camera model, but when I OK out of the settings, it just says that the "[name of chosen model] is not Activated" ... then i'll notice that the setting was changed back to "Pelco Dome." any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...
