  1. Your failing to understand the point. How is he going to get the wires to the camera? If he drills a hole into the building, than he can drill a hole for anchors. If he pipes to the location, he has to secure the pipe somehow to the building so would be able to secure the camera as well. So why would be use suction cups if be has to run a wire to the camera anyway? I can understand if he wanted to mount a flag and possibly use suction cups with some bonding agent or something, but consider he has to run a wire as well as mount the camera.

    High (playback) quality 8-channel DVR

Since your cameras are analog, your highest recording quality is D1. I recommend you getting a Dahua 8 channel Full D1. They are reasonably priced and good quality. You'll probably even find them priced around the same as you paid for your previous DVR's.

How to get external IP remotely

I figured that was well, or whatismyip.com. But, I do not see anywhere in nvrdns to manually enter the IP? It auto senses the IP that your on when you register your domain. There are not many options in that website. I guess thats why it's free, LOL.

How to get external IP remotely

I'd rather keep the client out of the loop. I only had one call me and I talked him through it over the phone. How do I check the cache for previous ip's? I usually use pss which only has the domain in it. Either way, I think I'm screwed. Maybe I can drive by the clients house and try to reconnect to their wifi. It means more work for me, but I think it'll be worth it.

How to get external IP remotely

I'm using nvrdns.com. It has a host update, but I didn't download it to my clients pc's. I thought the DVR would update the IP, but they do not seem to be doing so for some reason?

    Need Pricing

I have the 2mp version of this camera. Dahua makes a 1.3mp and a 600tvl analog version. I had a 1080P laptop logged in remotely to the camera and an hdmi from the laptop to a 55" LED hdtv and the image was absolutely stunning. There are two sets of IR's, one set for close up shots and one set for long range shots. The IR's know if your zoomed in or zoomed out. You can set guard tours and set up to 255 presets. You can even tell the IR's what time of day to come on or never to come on. It's the best camera I have ever used. I highly recommend it. But just make sure you have crazy amount of upload speed if you plan on remote viewing it. If you can't find them for sale anywhere, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do for the amount you want.

What is the best analog nightvision camera?

Without knowing the resolution capability of the DVR itself, that camera you linked will be much better than the ones in the kit. A camera is only as good as the DVR. If the DVR streams and records at a low resolution, the camera will look like it has low resolution. As far as night vision, that sony effio will produce a much better image than those in the kit. And as far as compatibility, any analog camera will work with any analog dvr.
  16. I bought a few of these kits and one install cancelled. This is a 16 channel NVR at 1080P each channel, FOUR Dahua 1.3mp eyeball cameras white with 3.6mm lens, and an 8 port switch with 4 POE ports. Price is 1600.00 shipped. I will pay shipping and I will pay the tax. Everything is brand new never used once.

    Where to find this DVR??

It's amazing how people can think they can advertise on a site and not have to pay advertising fees by posting links to their website in forums. Just for that, I would never buy anything from you site. Zbeem
  18. Why not simply ask the owner of the building to contact the architect and ask him what he recommends. Or, if you are bidding on the job, ask the owner what the other companies plan on doing to mount a camera on his glass building. And I would think, if it's 100% glass, it's very cosmetic and the owner of the building wouldn't even want cameras mounted on his beautiful building. Like I said, I would check with the owner before I start even thinking of ideas on how to mount a camera on his beautiful glass building. But that's me?

    SS drives

My laptop has an SS for the primary and a regular for storage. The SS drive and the 3rd gen I7 chip makes everything super fast. PSS runs very smoothly with a bunch of other programs running along with my torrents. If you can go SS, definitely get one.

    Strange Problem -- Need Help

If it's impossible to put the wire directly to the camera in seal tight or pipe, than like said previously silicone works wonders. Sometimes I put the connections inside a ziplock bag, close it up, tape it up, than silicone the end. But and outdoor weatherproof box with gaskets always works well for future servicing so you don't have to scrap the silicone off if you need to service.
