4 more LEDS!! " title="Applause" /> -
Your considering a Lorex, but you think an IP megapixel camera with an NVR is ok at best? Which twilight zone are you living in, LOL! If you want 8 quality cameras that are going to get faces and/or license plate and a PTZ or two, than plan on spending more than 1500.00. I posted that link because even us professional installers love the value of that Qsee kit. Your really getting an unbelievable value for four IP 1.3 megapixel cameras with IR's, an NVR with built in POE, and a 1tb HDD. If your looking for more cameras than 4, than go with a Dahau 8 channel with 8 IP cams of your choice.

Dahua cameras now at Costco
vector18 replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
i think any 3.6mm lens would work fine in the q-see, its just that 2.1mm lens is a lot bigger. I think your confused what I am asking. I would like to know if that Dahua camera will work with the QC NVR or not or visa verca! Not if the lenses will work on the cameras? -

vector18 replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Now, if someone can check if a Dahua camera will work with the Qsee NVR, that would be great. This way, at least we would have a choice of 3.6 and 6.0mm when installing without trying to find a compatible lens. -

In the Dahua's, you can remove the 888888 and 666666 passwords. There is no OSD on this camera so I won't imagine that you would be able to turn off the IR's or adjust when they come on. Pics, and/or video would be real nice. I am considering buying a kit just to keep in stock. -

There must be a different firmware because I downloaded the Qsee iPhone app and it does not support any of my dahua dvr's or NVR's. And it looks exactly like idmss. -

It definitely is a great deal! I like the built in POE and it comes with 1tb, not 500gb like I would have thought it would. Costco had to have bought 100,000 of these kits from china! -

Why wouldn't you just use PSS and idmss or gdmss? -

Buell, any chance of a night shot with that camera? Have you actually installed the Dahua bullet? If so, do you see any difference at all between the costco and the dahua? Is the web interface the exact same but just with the qsee logo? Thanks! -
MJPEG Video Stream URL
vector18 replied to dexjel1405's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
How are you recording this camera? That is what I mean by playback. I've learned if set to mjpeg, when you record the camera, it does not record properly. That is why I would recommend h.264. And you should only have to enter http://192.168.0.177:82 to access your camera, not all that other stuff? -

You only need to forward the port if your going to view the camera outside the network. Have you tried playback? I still say you should change from mjpeg to h.264. -
MJPEG Video Stream URL
vector18 replied to dexjel1405's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You should set your IP cam to h.264, not mjpeg. MJpeg is for A/V equipment mostly. As for the correct IP, we will not be able to say yes or no. That IP is on your internal network. You can do an IP Scan and if the IP camera is wired properly, than it should let you know what the IP of the camera is. -
The way I see it is if your looking to save HDD space and your on 24 hour record, than you should set to VBR so when there is no action in the camera, the bit rate is lower and less space for better quality is taken from HDD. But, if you record in Motion, which is my preference, than set to CBR with the highest bit rate possible so when the camera does start to record from motion, at least it has the best picture possible.

And the DVR itself is crap. If I recall, it's max resolution is CIF. It's an ECOR something if I remember.

I actually have a customer that purchased those cameras and an everfocus DVR, installed them himself and than just had me put them on the internet for him. I was not impressed with them at all, especially for the price. I tried adjusting one of them and when you turn the board up when the camera was on a pedastal, the IR's were being blocked by the housing so the light was bouncing back into the lens. It's just a horrible design and everfocus should be punished for selling them at the price they are selling them for. The camera in the back alley is actually a Dahua camera. He destroyed one of the everfocus cameras when he was installing it so I sold him a new one of mine.
