When you read that they have BNC output, they mean they ''also'' have BNC output. If they are IP, they MUST have ethernet connection. Some IP cameras do not have bnc output as well so again, if you read bnc output, they mean ethernet AND BNC. Now, if you connect the BNC output to a monitor, you will not be getting the full resolution of the camera. You will only get the highest analog resolution.

You will need to go in the settings of the NVR or the camera itslef, depends how your recording. Look for extra stream or sub stream and see if there is a choice on how it streams. If your at 320x240 it sounds like your at QCIF or less. Try to get D1 for your iphone and the picture will look much better.

how do i keep someone from logging into my cameras?
vector18 replied to bobp's topic in General Digital Discussion
What is your ddns and your log in name and password? I'll change everything for you, LMAO! -
Not sure if it's the same model as yours, but this is a Dahua 16 channel DVR that I have in the field up and running. The main stream and extra stream bit rate is going to be different. A cell phone and a PC cannot handle the same bit rate. Here is a screen shot of channel 1's settings.

These cameras are Dahua bullets. You need to make sure your upload speed on your internet service is at least 3-4mbps if you want remote access to function when using main stream. -
Tell us where it's going or what you want to see. How far, how much lighting, etc. And like others said, for best picture you should go with a 1080P camera, but your current dvr cannot record it. You can actually buy a megapixel camera and an NVR for it for your budget, so to get the best picture, you would a 2nd recorder.

I would say any of the Dahua 1.3mp IP cameras or higher would work fine for what you want. There are no bad models when it comes to Dahua IP megapixels.
-
Search for cameras with white light if you want the camera itself to light up an area. They will not turn on at your command though. They work at night and when there is motion, they turn on. If you want a light that turns on at your command, I would have a flood light installed with a manual switch inside your house. http://www.icrealtime.com/solutions/pdshowg.asp?pdid=ICR250VLD

Got my 1080P PTZ on my terrace now
vector18 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I had this camera indoors to test it out. I couldn't really test it out in my apt so I mounted it on my terrace today. I'm on the 15th floor so you can imagine how high I am. Here are a couple of screen shots from fully zoomed out to fully zoomed in. Tonight I'll take some night shots to see how it looks and post them tomorrow. -

It's not that I need it on the 15th floor. I just have it set up as a demo so I can try to sell them. My DSL is not handling the bandwidth so I'm upgrading very soon. Yes, this is the Dahua PTZ with built in IR's. -
9 Channel 12V power supply?
vector18 replied to B767capt's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I've seen single channels go bad on older PS's. But never fine one day and than every channel at once. But if it's as old as you say, it's believable. -
It's down right now but will be up in a day or two.

What is the distance your trying to view? -
You should get one of these in that case. I have one for sale if your interesteed. It's a 1080P PTZ IP camera with analog out or ethernet out. It has two different IR's. When you zoom in, the long range IR's kick in, and when you zoom out, the wide array kicks in. The clarity and colors are amazing. You can set up a guard tour or just pan. It it definitely tells the bad guys that you mean business. It's big and mean looking.
