  1. I see what your saying now. You have an office and a house, two DVRS, two networks. You should NOT be able to ping

the office DVR from the house and vica verca if you have two different networks. Are you sure they are two networks or

are your ISP using one network and two accounts? If you are on your own network, sometimes the ddns will not work cause your using your own network to go outside the internet and than back into your own network. If you can ping your office dvr from your house, than that is the case and you would need to use your internal IP address to log into it. See if you can do an IPCONFIG

on both systems and copy and paste the info into the forum for us, thanks.

  2. It is all your choice and what you need it for. You already know the benefits of a 'recorder' and you and only you

should know if you need one or not. If your only looking for snap shots of a motion event and than you will log

into the camera to see whats going on, there is no need to worry about fps. FPS will only matter if your recording

to an nvr. The snapshot is a still image, there are no frames or seconds there, lol. And lastly, you keep mentioning 'for home use'.

You do realize probably about 99.9 percent of homes with camera systems record their cameras, right?

  4. I have a job coming up where I'm installing an NVR with 12 indoor mini ip domes, 3 outdoor vandal ip domes, and I need to install

one camera in the call box for the gate. Usually what is done is a small board camera is installed in the call box and a small window is already installed on the box where just the lens is looking through. What are my options for an IP system? Any ideas?

  5. Use something like this for internet, http://www.virginmobileusa.com/shop/mobile-broadband/broadband-2-go/sierra-overdrive-pro/features/ and use something like this for power, http://www.amazon.com/Sunforce-50048-60-Watt-Solar-Charging/dp/B000CIADLG/ref=cm_lmf_tit_1

Me personally, would tell the guy to get at least power to the location or I won't do the job. Are there any buildings

near him? Maybe you can ask to install a good zoom camera off a nearby building?

  6. You should check the data wires for continuity, or bring the camera to the DVR and wire it up with a few feet of wire. Or, swap PTZ's out and see if the working PTZ stops working in the non working spot. It's a pain in the balls, but you need to use

    process of illumination.

  7. Just so you know, the internal IP address of your DVR is pretty much useless to anyone, LOL. Just make sure your DVR

is set to static and your entering the same IP that is in your DVR to the same port you are entering in your TP link router.

Also, I would try a 4 or 5 digit port rather than 82.

  8. A few months ago my boss sent me to our distributor to get a megapixel IP camera for his mothers house which was under

renovation. He told me to call him when I get there. I called him while I was there and he told me to ask for the cheapest

megapixel indoor camera. The girl at the desk told me 380.00 is the cheapest one. I told my boss where I buy my cameras, they have much better prices but they sell chinese cameras. He asked me how much would one be so I made a quick call and

I told him a Dahua 1.3mp mini indoor dome would cost about 130 bucks. My boss says it better look good or else. Well, I installed it and gave him the log in to check it out, and he couldn't believe his eyes. He is an old school installer and really

hasn't been in the field for many years so what he is used to seeing is nowhere near an IP megapixel camera. But, bottom line is, that 130 dollar camera from china blew his socks off and saved him a bunch of money.
