Hi Vector. A little off topic but I'm so jealous of your view of Forest Park.Few people that know the area ever get a view from that perspective.
Looks like about the 18th floor...
.
Good eye, but I'm on 15.

In case if anyone is wondering how I have an IP camera on my terrace, I have an outlet out there and I have a wifi bridge out there picking up my wifi and giving local power to the camera.
-
Here is a night time shot of the camera.

It may not say dahua nvr. It might just have an IP address. Are you sure you cannot see the same IP that you used to view
your NVR in IE?
-
so far, this is current at 7:35PM

I will post a night time shot once it gets dark tonight.Cant wait for the night times shots.
Do you mind uploading sample video to my FTP. Would love to see to Day time and night time video.
LMK
Thanks
I'll post pics of night time on my balcony. If you want live video, PM me and I'll let you log into it.

They are OEM through Empire. They are not rebranded Dahua.

You only need http and tcp. If you can view the nvr thru explorer, than you know your IP already. Are you sure your in the right router? You should see it in connected devices?

Here are screenshots using IE. First is login, than playback, than main screen

Here is a pic of the menu for programming the NVR. There are other sections, but this IMO is the main one.

OK, I set up the 2mp bullet on my terrace. Here is a screen shot of the camera being viewed by the CMS software.

As you all know, I install Dahua and really like it. But, I've decided to see what else is out there. I am going to set up
an Empire OEM nvy and a 1.3mp bullet and a 2.0mp bullet sometime soon. Right now I have them set up in my home
and just getting used to them. So far, everything is easy to use and the cameras look pretty good. I have the software CMS
installed but haven't really looked at it yet. In the next day or two, I will post images from the cameras and images
from the NVR interface. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me in this post.

How does the wire feed into the camera and how is it mounted to the pole? Maybe post a picture?

How can the water travel up? Do you live in outerspace?

These are all IP, gotta love them

Than why does my playback video end as soon as the motion ends? I never have seen 10 seconds of nothing once motion detection has stopped?
-
Why would anyone ever want that?

The NVR will have a DDNS field that you will fill out and the NVR will send the new IP to the ddns server if your modem changes.
When you view your NVR remotely, you enter the ddns server info, not the IP of your modem.

OK, this is weird. Do you get to this screen? Than click update, enter your new username and password, confirm password, than click save?
-
Are you even going in device manager like I said? I tried to be very specific on what you have to do to make it work. In device settings, you enter the dvr's username and password and there is two areas to enter the password. The second area says confirm. That's what I mean to make sure you enter it in confirm password.
I will post screen shots when I get home later.

You are right. But for those who do not want to start selling IP cameras, it's nice that someone takes the time
to post sample images of different products. Empire gave me the chance to post sample images of their
product and to test it out so I am. I've ordered from them in the past and their customer support is great. They
also sell Dahua products so they are just an option if someone is looking for an IP system. Are there other
budget systems, of course there is, that is why we have this forum, to help people choose whats best for them.
