Please set up a temp user name and password and let me try it out if you don't mind. There has to be a setting

in the iphone that your missing or something? It doesn't make sense.

Have you tested it either way? If it does not work with wifi on while on the same network as the dvr, than that rules out port forwarded and the ddns server.

Your testing the iPhone with wifi turned off, right?

It looks like your doing a port range. I would do 2 rules. One for port 80 tcp and one for port 9000 tcp. And it looks

like the IP that its forwarding to is a different IP than your DVR. You listed your DVR as IP 192.168.1.67 and

your port forward rule is showing 99.21.81.115.

The ddns port is the port the dvr uses to send out the new ip to the ddns server. It does not need to be

open because it's sending the info out to the web. But it should be different than the tcp or http.

If your using no-ip, than just scroll to no-ip and check enable. Leave the others alone

If you can access your dvr from your friends house in explorer, than your http port is definitely open and

the ddns is directed to your dvr. If you cannot view it from iphone using 3g, than either your tcp is not

open, or your not entering something correctly in the iphone app settings.

But you should enter the IP of your ddns server so it can update if anything.

Do you have a choice for private ddns? If so, use that. If not, it shouldn't matter what it says

if it doesn't say no-ip. If you ping no-ip.com, it comes up as 8.23.224.110 so that is the IP

for no-ip.com. You want to enter that in the DVR so it knows where to send it's updated IP

address just in case it changes. Have you tried canyouseeme.org and tested your ports to see

if your ports are open or not?

What is the model number of the DVR and which iphone APP are you using? Did you open any ports in

your router yet? Did you assign ports that you want to open in the DVR? Is the DDNS you using from

the DVR manufacturer?

Your typical installer uses beam clamps, 1900 boxes, etc. I like installing a 2x4 across the ibeams, mounting a base

plate to the 2x4 and thread conduit to the base plate and than threading the conduit to the camera base to

a vandam dome. Or, if the ceilings are not too ridiculous high, why not go with varifocals and zoom in?

I just took a quick look at camplug. It looks like where you enter the dvr port, it should be the TCP port.

Where it says ddns ip, you enter your domain name for your ddns, the ddns port should be set in the

dvr and open in your router, and should be different than the TCP or the Http, and you have

to enter your ddns user id and password that you set up when you set up your ddns. Alittle more envolved

than other iphone apps I've used.

Did you open port 37777 in your router and than check it by going to canyouseeme.org?

Can you let us in on the reason of having to know the ptz location constantly? I'm just curious.

If you can use the existing cable for pulls, change it out with Siamese and upgrade your friends cameras for him.

If you can't, or he doesn't want to upgrade, you will have to figure out which wires are power and which ones

are ground and convert them on the dvr end. If he wants to upgrade cameras but you cannot run wires, than try baluns and see what happens. But for the record, I would tell my friend, listen, if I'm going to do this for you,

I want to do it right, and do not want to drive another 3 hours because your not happy with the upgrade. Try

to convince him to run the correct cable, upgrade cameras, and the dvr all at once. Thats my .02

I'd go with isolators first or try powering your power supply from a different circuit in the house.

There's not a huge difference between the two subway robberies except the first one has

the worst camera angle where you can't even see on the other side of the counter where

the robber is standing and the IP camera has the correct angle where you can see better.

But IMO, if the lower resolution camera was positioned better, you would have no problem

at all identifying the criminal.

Worst case scenario, ship the bad camera to me in NY and I'll ship it to the manufacturer as defective!

I could be wrong, but protocol is not a difference. It's compatibility. Dvr's give you choices so this way

they are compatible with different types of PTZ's. I do not think one is 'better' than another.

Ohhhh, you mean a computer that does not have Internet! My bad. Are the cameras looking at a combination to a safe or something???

Why would you want to connect them to a computer that is offline????

Nice idea, but you might you want to invest in a tripod or cut down on the coffee.....

Have you thought about having an email sent to your cell phone upon an alarm through the DVR?

The question is, why would there even be a setting that produces noise to begin with! Lol!

And just curious, why did you go the route of an expensive IP fixed dome plus the cost of a POE switch rather than a sony effio varifocal 700tvl eyeball camera with 2dnr and 42ir's which produces a super clean daytime image and a sharp night time image and costs around 80 bucks?
