  1. Is there any IP cameras that can handle direct sun - such as setting sun without over or underexposing or creating lines or artifacts? I am looking for a camera to use as a weather camera pointed west at the sky which will get the afternoon and setting sun. I would prefer something 1.3mp or better.
  2. Hi, I have a Panasonic WV-NP1004E IP Megapixel camera and need advice in choosing a lens for this. It will be pointed basically at the sky being used as a weather cam. I am looking for a varifocal lens around 2.5-8mm, CS mount, 1/3" and auto iris. This is what I am doing with a cheap lens --- http://kiwiradio.blakjak.net/wxcam-history.php So far I have come across megapixel lenses from Panasonic, Tamron and Pentax, would I be better going for the Panasonic WV-LZA62/2 1/3" 2.8-6mm High-Resolution Auto Iris Lens due to it supposedly being matched for the camera or going for something that is half the price like the Pentax C70228DCPS 2.6mm-8mm DC Auto Iris Vari-focal Plus Lens or maybe something else? Biggest problem is that there is very little information about these apart from the manufacturers and I don't want to end up getting a dog.
  3. I like your price better... EDIT: According to their website MSRP is $299 - not bad for a up to 5mp lens
  4. I have now and that lens looks perfect - I'd hate to know the price of it as it looks rather expensive
  5. Here is a sample of what I am getting with a basic lens, trying to stay away from the fish-eye look if I can but probably impossible at the wider end of the scale...

  7. Its not supposed to, however, this is my webpage where things are.... http://kiwiradio.blakjak.net/wxcam-history.php give it a day or two for me to get things settled and adjusted but you can see what I am up to. bit of a learning curve as its the first time using an IP camera
  8. Ok I'm a noob and this is my first post so here goes..... I have a Panasonic WV-NP1004E camera hooked into my pc via both analogue and lan, I wish to make more use of the lan but can not for the life of me find software to run it on my pc to do a simple thing, that is to take a jpeg image every 30secs and save it to my hard drive. (to be used to create a all day time lapse movie file.) Is there any software capable of doing this? I run a weather site and have the camera pointed at the sky showing online current weather conditions and time lapse wmv files.
  9. I found a way to use it with the weather display software - seems to be working ok using "http://192.168.0.10/SnapshotJPEG?Resolution=1280x960&Quality=superfine" as the address.
  10. Hi, I have a Panasonic WV-NP1004E IP camera and am needing a good quality 4mm-6mm fixed focal auto iris lens, the Panasonic lens that I have appears to be fairly soft to me so am looking for recommendations please for a new lens.
