Can't speak to other NVR remote solutions, but Exacq Vision supports both regular browsers (no ActiveX required) and the Exacq Mobile iPhone application (soon to be ported to other platforms), and there is no comparison between using a browser and application. Some have complained on iTunes about the $49 cost for Exacq Mobile and said they would continue to use the Safari browser, but for me, the speed, utility, and ease of use justify the cost. Exacq is aware they need to improve event searches, and once that is developed and released, this app with rock. So, while it's certainly nice to be able to walk into any hotel lobby or internet cafe and use a vanilla browser without any ActiveX, etc, there are also advantages to a well-designed mobile app that is specifically designed for a task. IMO, a quality NVR should have both. Best, Christopher This sounds like a great solution. I'll definitely check out this Exacq iphone app. I think being able to access images from home security systems like http://www.alarm.com/ is the way to go. Is this going to work as an Android app soon as well? That would be great.

If you're a pro looking for a lead, click next, I'm tired of talking to people selling home security systems because they seem to have no clue of what I *need* and keep trying to sell me what makes them money.. My situation is really simple, I've got cheap rent and the only thing of value to me is my new YZF-R1 in the garage. I could leave the bike parked infront of a highschool all day and nothing bad would happen. I leave it overnight in the garage on the weekend and some drunken roomate knocks it over without the dignity to admit to it. So I don't want a "cheap monitoring contract", I really could care less how long the sprinklers or lights are on, there's no dog to walk and even if I did have a dog I wouldn't want to keep track of when he's taken out and returned by my "dog walker" *roll eyes*.. and while the idea of keeping children out of liquor seems relevant I'm more after seeing what said drunken children are doing to my bike. I just want 1 or 2 good low light LED cameras (the garage gets almost pitch black at night) and a motion sensor tied to a recorder. We do have WiFi in the house but no phone lines, so the most I'd want is an email if something is going on. Anyone interested in sharing some ideas/suggestions of something cheap/current? Most of what I've found online is outdated by the time I find it.
