looks like i may have to run a wire out to one of the cam i'm replacing. Do i really need to put it in conduit or can i wire it exposed. Its a high quality wire from belden 549945, no snow in california but lots of sun. Any input is appreciated. thanks. b

I just installed in front of the house it seems that it doesn't want to go black and white. I tested it on the other side of the house where a street light is about 100 feet away and that time it turned to black and white and visibility is impressive. However, in front of the house where there's a 20 watt lamp lighting the driveway, it doesn't turn black and white, i could still see the red and blue color of the cars on the driveway. What configuration can i change so switch to black and white doesn't only get triggered on just total darkness?. Thanks in advance.

very informative Rory!. Thanks. you must have a lot of time on your hands! -
Mine does have the 3 level. When setting is "high", it did change quicker. other cnb models has 30 levels, unfortunately, cnb says when the vbm might have more levels in the future "but" our current vbm's are not flashable.

Check this out for changing the sensitity. (video is from steven, cnbusa).

Supposedly, according to James (CNB Support) the, old vbm's doesn't hae the low, mid, high setting, the new one does (new firmware). Also, if you want to be more granular in that particular setting, the VCB-24VF (according to james) lets you set it from 1-30. Its a wdr, supposedly clearer during the day and much better at night. fyi. No photocell on the vbm to cover. It uses the lens itself...Maybe on the next firmware update of the vbm that there will be more than 3 settings for light sensitivity. I opened a ticket and made it a wishlist.

Tried setting to high and it somewhat became more sensitive. With low, its almost pitch dark before it switches. I'll try the gamma and covering the cell tomorrow. Thanks for the great suggestions. b

ordered 3 cnb's from them and they we're shipped properly, on time with 3 power adapters and 6 cable converters. Would order from them again.... probably depends on who you get that day. I was lucky that day. Thanks. -
Hello, I'm new here, thanks in advance for the response. Where do people order the cnb vbm-24vf's at a good price. I've seen price ranges from 140-240.00$ THanks again. bo
