What is the difference between the CCTV and the Camera Lens?
RVRBOY420007 replied to avinsinanan's topic in Security Cameras
I see they have changed it to HD sensor. I have the original brochures and cut sheets at work I will have to send them to you. Unless they have re-engineered in the last year it has a C-MOS imager I know for a fact because that was the first response I received when sending the specs to customers. -
I need couplers for the 12v power supply. Where can I buy?

If you would like to make it easy and your runs are not over 100ft just buy some ready made cables. They take all the guess work out of it. -

Depends on what cameras you are refering to Broadcast, Consumer, Industrial or what?? As for c-mos Covi has an awesome c-mos camera for surveillance just alot of people don't know about them. -
WHAT'S THE BEST OUTDOOR IR BULLET CAMERA FOR UNDER $200.00
RVRBOY420007 replied to kandcorp's topic in Security Cameras
That Merit Lilin looks alot like the Eclipse. Arm C380BCDNVFIR with it externally adjustable 2.7 - 12mm lens is one of my best sellers along with KTL CFC6031. KT&C has alot of nice ir bullets and I have also heard about Vision Tech?? Haven't seen or heard about them alot but when I do the custoemr seems to like them. -
3 good cameras alone will cost you $700 or one decent wireless transmitter/receiver. I do have a one camera wireless kit but it can only use one channel for around $200

Camera temperature [heat, not color] ranges?
RVRBOY420007 replied to jmccorm's topic in Security Cameras
Definately Extreme is the best unless you need a camera in a boiler, which I have a source for those too, there are some cheaper options out there though. I have a customer in Phoenix and he likes everfocus ez350's and ganz domes but if you use standard cameras just use good housings with blowers. -
I knew there had to be a reason I sell more standalone units. I have never personally installed a pc card but it sound like alot of technical knowledge is needed. I have used Toshiba, ARM, Samsung, Pelco and DM units and I have never seen this much help needed. I have sold some PC Cards but have only had one issue where it didn't come with the software. Are these Geo Vision cards or PC cards really this difficult?? I have some customers who told me GeoVision are great and loaded with features, do they have complete PC DVRS or just cards??

Are the cameras hard wired??

If you are using siemese bnc the coax/video remember the pin is the male so on the camera should be female for the 18/2 some cmaeras come with the screw terminator adapter or you can use wire nuts or standard crimp couplers it is completely up to your preference. Have you ever wired anything electrical even speakers?? -
Need Help, Bad Lines In Video
RVRBOY420007 replied to utvols's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Are all the cameras using the same power supply? Ditek has an inexpensive ground loop isolator if thats the problem but it couls be alot of things. Is it just lines or is the video rolling?? -
I am not familiar with that DVR but Rory is right with the b/w cams being better. The best low light cam in color I have seen is Panasonic SDIII. It uses wide dynamic and low light technology but isn't cheap. I have had customers with the same issue as you just add a couple of button ir's but if you cams are too sensitive or not sensitive enough it won't help much. If you want to stick with ganz dome try the zcdn3039 it will work better then those domes.

Ya this isn't new there are tons of different technologies that can do this from stand alone door chimes with counters that can integrate into your current alarm or cctv system to dvr's that count the motion detects but none are 100%.

Now-a-days there isn't really a standard. I have customers who swear by one piece bnc crimps ons and pig tails and others who say twist on are the best along with splicing the power together and of coarse there are the one who run the power and video over one coax. Everyone has there own favorites. -
DVR FPS Question 120fps vs 240fps - is it split by channel?
RVRBOY420007 replied to RichTJ99's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Specs can be tricky like that. Generally when an 8ch card says it has 120 fps its at the second or even 3rd hi res setting. The rest of you math is right you just need to make sure to read the specs closely some manufactures try to be deceiving by telling you its real time (30 fps per ch) but thats not true when recording at the highest resolution. Usually setting to the highest resolution will cut the fps in half which is fine, 15 fps is great, I have seen liquor store recording at 2-3 fps. I recommend at least 5-7 depending on what you are trying to accomplish. -
Newbie camera selection questions [sorry]
RVRBOY420007 replied to jmccorm's topic in Security Cameras
What dvr are you using?? Domes are better for outdoors because bullets can be redirected by falling branches or over thrown footballs frisbees or baseballs. -
The playback on a standalone should be the same as a PC based if recorder at the same resolution using the same cameras unless you tweak it with the PC right? I told him you can't expect to get that high of quality from a 480 lor cctv camera on a HD TV kinda like using a LCD for a CCTV monitor. Have you ever uses any 3ccd cameras like the Panasonic AWE750 or those Covi mega pixel cameras?? Think that would make a big difference??

Hey Rory you ever have issue playing back DVD's from a DVR on a standard DVD player?? Hava a customer looking for a unit that can burn DVD's that when playing on standard DVD players looks good as TV. Is this possible with standard CCTV cameras??

Help a newbie before I waste money one ebay (Shopping list)
RVRBOY420007 replied to RichTJ99's topic in Security Cameras
DEFINATLY STAY AWAY FROM E-BAY. IF YOU WANT TO USE YOUR PC FORGET THE CARD JUST GO ALL IP!! TOSHIBA HAS SOME INEXPENSIVE MODELS BUT VIDEO ISN'T THE BEST. I RECOMMEND SONY SNCRZ25N YOU COULD PUT 2 OR 3 UP AND COVER THE WHOLE BLOCK SERIOUSLY THOUGH JUST GET SOME IP CAMERAS AND SOME GOOD SOFTWARE AND STAY OFF E-BAY CCTV. -
Does anyone recognize this DVR card or software?
RVRBOY420007 replied to RichTJ99's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
DEFINATELY JUNK!! GOOD PC CARDS COST GOOD MONEY AND IF IT WAS GOOD AT THAT PRICE HE COULD RUN THE INDUSTRY AND WOULDN'T BE SELLING IT ON E-BAY. -
YOU CHEATED!!!

Korea Taiwan Japan China they are all the same...the only difference is they use older kids to put the cameras together in Korea. I have had great success with Northern Video Systems helping me out with my applications. I have found Extreme CCTV to have the best IR Cameras.
