i have tried ports 25, 110, 587 and nothing

to diy'er i get what ur sayin... however my xp laptop sent me an email and so did my router... are you saying i should try other ports..?

just tested my router it sent me an email also...

ok took my xp laptop and set it up as in the link you gave me ....and got an email....WTF now..

type in what im to put in im going crazy email on/off ----- SSL on/off---- SMTP port ----00000 SMTP --------- Send email -------------- sender pw--------------- recv email--------------- these are all the options i have comcast smtp is smtp.comcast.net

ok i put in SMTP.comcast.net left user name blank and password blank as im typing this i should have left that in right?

the only thing i can see to enable is pop...and it says pop is enabled

ok so im clear ISP internet service provider.. i have comcast so would i need a comcast email?

i cant get it to email me on any of these port 587,465,25 i just talk to svat there tier 2 tech support is off till monday... is there an email that DOES NOT require encryption....im assuming this is the problem as i tried to get my router to send me an email and it said failed also.. theres no log on the DVR to let me know if its even trying to send an email...?

nothing on port 25 Im a system integrator and have never had this much trouble sending a frickin email from something

i just found this on gmails site If you tried configuring your SMTP server on port 465 (with SSL) and port 587 (with TLS), but are still having trouble sending mail, try configuring your SMTP to use port 25 (with SSL). im going to try port 25 now

yes i left that out sorry SMTP is set to smpt.gmail.com

Hello all i have spent a better part of my f&^%ing saturday trying to get this new svat model cv502 with smart phone access up and running.. all is done... HOWEVER THE LAST 5 HOURS have been spent trying to get it to email me for motion or video loss.. ALERT the email set options are as follows email on/off i have it on SSL on or off i have it on smtp port 00000 i have it set to 00587 and tried 00465 send email: my name@gmail.com sender pass: ******* IS correct I checked it 1100 and 52 times... RECV email: set to the email i want it to got to... and its a gmail addy now every thing i have read to day says this is correct but i get nothing.. help me obi-wan your my only hope.....
