  1. Hi everyone. I recently purchased one of these rack mountable used online version3.2 i think and now its starting it shuts off and i'm getting pri master s.m.a.r.t failure message hit f4 to resume. it looks like the primary drive is partitioned (15 GB for windows, 218 GB for storage) i received no manuals or anything but am guessing i need to clone this drive before it dies completely How easy is this to do and can i clone a partitioned drive like this? Also, if i wanted to upgrade the size of the drive, how do i go about it? thanks for any replies.

    Intellex hard drive failing

Ok thanks. the drive had 2 bad sectors found, hopefully that won't cause me any problems. Should I copy the image on the 2nd partition (218 GB) This would take me forever. I was hoping intellex would see the drive and automatically copy whatever files it needs. I'm not concerned with losing the footage already on the drive. Could I just delete all the avi's in the database, then copy and paste the 3 or 4 directories in the 2nd partition? Thanks again for all your help

    Intellex hard drive failing

What I did is hook the intellex hard drive up to my home computer and copied a true image of the intellex drive. Can't I just use Acronis to copy the image on to the new drive and then install new drive in the intellex? I've already partitioned the new drive. Thanks again for your help.

    Intellex hard drive failing

Thank you for the tips. I tried hooking up the hard drive to another computer via a usb-IDE adaptor and it doesn't even get recognized. The slave drive of the Intellex seems fine when I hook that up. Now what? Am I screwed? I bought this online last year used as-is thinking it was a good deal.

    Intellex hard drive failing

Thanks for the reply. How do I make sure the sector is active? Not sure I follow you?? I think 4TB is a little overkill (for my use anyway), as I could do with 1TB and have plenty of storage left over. Would 2-500 GB hard drives need a new power supply? Thanks again
