Looking for a 16 Channel DVR and 8 Cameras - Need ideas

Do you have any suggestions as to what brand or model DVR or if there is a particular "complete system" you like?
  2. I am looking at a LTS security camera with a vari-focal lense for a gift for my father. Here is the link : http://www.directron.com/dvccmr823hb.html Is this a good camera? I want some range with my night vision, I have lights up around his building so I know the night vision will increase with that. Is the night vision good on this camera? The vari-focal lense on the camera, it says external zoom and focus adjustmnets. Can I zoom in and out from my DVR with this camera? The description says 3-axis pan/tilt rotation bracket. Can I tilt and rotate this camera from my DVR, or does this just mean that I can tilt and rotate it manually? Thanks -Bmonaweck02

Good or Bad Camera? X-MAS GIFT IDEA

I would like to get a camera that has a vari-focal lense on it. I would also like to be able to zoom from the DVR. I would also not like to spend a lot(like $150 at most). I also want something with decent night vision. Right now we have Q-See CMOS camera with 40' night vision (****ty cameras).
  4. I am a newbie to CCTV and DVR's, I have everything set up and working the way i want it. I have a Q-SEE QT426 DVR. I am setting this up for my business and I was wondering if there was anyway other than to check everyday for motion, to have the DVR flash something on the screen or have it tell you somehow that it sensed something important? I know it sounds like a ridiculous question, but I am just wondering. Thanks -Bmonaweck02

    Good Or bad Camera?

I am looking at upgrading my cameras. I have q-see CMOS 40 ft night vision camera's. I want to upgrade but only spend like $120 a piece on them. I found one on ebay, and i was wondering if someone could look at it and give some advice or if you have a camera that is in that price range that you thing is good. Thanks -Bmonaweck02
  6. I have been installing a Q-See security system. I have had to extend the factory cables and i have the cables crimped correctly and everything works except for one cable. I have checked the voltage and that is fine at 12.05 volts but there is no power to the camera (the ir's do not come on at night). It is not the camera because i have tried the camera with another cable I made myself. I am wondering if anyone can give me any help? Thanks -Bmonaweck02

12 volts to camera but no power

Thanks, But I decided to go to Menard's and get some 18/2 cable and run new power. I don't know why it wouldn't work. I had 12 volts before and now that i ran the new cable I still have 12 volts but the camera works now.
