  1. Hi, I currently have a couple of indoor analog Pelco mini spectra PTZ's installed, and I'm looking to add more PTZs to my system. Could someone suggest a ceiling mount indoor analog PTZ with a smoked dome that is relatively quiet? I've found multiple indoor PTZ's, but they all seem to have clear domes and I would need smoked. I'd also like to spend less than what a Pelco mini spectra PTZ costs, so I'd figured I'd ask the forum. Thanks for any help.
  2. Hello, I'm looking to purchase an 8 port D1 Dahua or Qvis to install at my business. I also have a zoneminder setup currently running at home and would like to add a couple of the business camera streams to my home DVR. Does anyone know if the Qvis can be queried via HTTP to grab a mpeg/jpeg stream for each channel? Thanks in advance.

    Eyesurv/Qvis mpeg stream to zoneminder?

Hi - Yes, zoneminder can take an RTSP stream no problem. I have a couple cameras set up using RTSP with it now.

    Pelco Spectra Mini Housing

Hello I was given a used Pelco Spectra Mini that I would like to mount on an outdoor tower. I know these cameras are rated for indoor use, but I was just curious if anyone knew of a 3rd party dome/housing that could be installed outside? Thanks in advance.

    Advice for F&I Office. Audio/Video

We have a system already in place that relies on the computer to do the recording. We have already had to use a few videos in court. I just wanted to switch over to a system that didn't rely on the F&I computer's. Anyone have any help on the questions above?
  7. Trying to see what my best option for recording video/audio for an F&I office at a car dealership. This is what I have in mind: Pelco DVR5100 to record Crown PZM-10LL for a microphone Pelco Spectra III domes What I would like is for the F&I Manager to hit a momentary switch that would set an alarm on the DVR5100 and initiate the recording process. I was just curious if anyone has used a setup like this or would have a suggestion for something similar. Also, how easy would exporting from the DVR5100 be? Eventually we would be adding 2 more office setups in 2 different buidings that have unused multimode fiber back to main building (dvr). Interested to hear any suggestions for transceiver/receiver over fiber that would handle both audio and video. Also, I will be adding more PTZ and fixed cameras to this setup for just general surveillance. I would like to use my zoneminder box to capture general surveillance cameras seperate from the F&I offices. Many thanks in advance.

    Advice for F&I Office. Audio/Video

Also, I have questions on using the Coaxitron PTZ's from pelco. Do I need a device (receiver) in between the camera and the Switcher, or does the switcher provide power to the cameras as well?

    Advice for F&I Office. Audio/Video

Yes, it's legal in GA as long as you have a notice posted.
  10. Hello, I am trying to get together a cost idea for a friend who wants to install a CCTV system in his insurance office. After walking through his office, we have determined that he will need around 8 cameras total. He wants a system that he can set up and be able to leave it alone. He doesn't want to monitor it continuously via a monitor, but would like to have the option for later down the road. Basically, he just wants something to record and be able to reference in case there was a situation that needed video playback. After scouring the forums, I am leaning towards a Sanyo DSR-3009. Using this model, should it be able to record until the disk is full, then start recording over the beginning video? Approximately how many hours of video could we capture using the 80gb model vs the 160 GB model. As for cameras, he wants to install PIR hidden 'Motion Detector' type. We may add one IR for outdoor use. Thanks in advance for any help!
