G-view Remote viewing on Motorola Q

Oh, I am using the 7.2 version of geovision if that matters, but the gview file is from version 7.0

G-view Remote viewing on Motorola Q

I have the gview file itself (the executable) on my treo. Since I have done a few hard resets, I have that file on my storage card so I can access my camera system from home. There is no other file that needs to be installed to make it all work. if you want me to email the file straight from my treo, that might work for you. Just let me know.

G-view Remote viewing on Motorola Q

Hi, I have the Treo 700w with Verizon & the high speed Evdo connection. Gview works great on it. I think the Q is a smartphone OS, not the WM5 OS which is why it wont work. The 6700 should also work fine with it (but that doesnt help you). The 240x240 treo screen cuts off a bit of the bottom options (screen capture ptz) but i dont need them for my usage. gview was written for WM 2003 (I forget the actual name), not for wm5 but it is compatible with wm5. It is really a great sales tool to wip out your cell phone, say look at this, they see a picture & then moving video. Its great! Thanks, Rich

    Stuttering Issue (video link enclosed)

What is SRT? Does it make a difference if I keep all cameras on the first 8 ports of the card? Is it better to use all 16 ports & just use the odd ports?
  6. Hi, I have been enjoying my setup for a while. There is one section of my yard that I would love to be able to view left & right a little bit more than I can right now. I think the PTZ camera might do the trick for me. Or if there is such a thing as a left/right camera (turning). That would work too. My dog loves to sit on her rock in my front yard & the camera is pointed at the front door, the only problem is that it is about 10 feet shy of where I want to point the camera. Anyway, any suggestions for a ptz camera would be appreciated. This is an outdoor application at my home, so it doesnt need to be the best ever(its really a doggie camera). Thanks, Rich

Suggestions on an inexpensive PTZ camera?

Is there a particular model you can recommend (or a website) so I can do some research on PTZ's?

Suggestions on an inexpensive PTZ camera?

I will spend more if i have to. Since this is a PTZ for home usage, I cant do multiple cameras (the boss aka wife said not a chance for more than 1 at that spot).

Suggestions on an inexpensive PTZ camera?

How much would I need to spend for a decent PTZ camera? What brands are good & work with a Geovision setup?
  13. Hi, I have been enjoying the CCTV setup in my house & would like to put a 4 inch LCD & install it on my motorcycle so I can see behind me. Since space is limited, I have been having a hard time finding a small LCD 4 inches is the biggest I can go (depending on the size of the LCD) & a 2.5 lcd would fit no problem but that is a bit on the small size. This is strictly for seeing behind me (yes I would turn as well). I like tinkering & think this would be a fun project. Thanks, Rich
  14. I was curious, if I setup my GV900 in a 3.2ghz, 1 gig of ram, Intel chipset PC can I do any of the following without degrading the performance of the PC: Can I have 1 main OS drive & 1 main storage drive & then add 3 other Hard drives for the sole purpose of sharing these drives to be accessed by 3 other PC's on a network? I want to use the server as a CCTV server & also as a "file server" (basic windows folder sharing). I want to do this but I dont want to do it at the cost of performance to the CCTV system. I have an 8 camera system at the moment (probably 10 in another few months). I know the general concensus is towards having a stand alone server that you never use for anything (no antivirus even). Any thoughts or opinions on that? Thanks, Rich

Oh, btw, can I control that with the Geovision 900 (and the Geovision software)? I see there are PTZ control options & that would be neat to have.

Somewhere around $500.00 was what I was hoping to spend. Is that enough to spend on a PTZ camera?

GV800 missing motion from main viewing screen

I have this same problem. I was using 6 cameras on my GV-900 card & when i added #7 suddenly the main image within the geovision application doesnt change (it just shows a still image), all other images look fine & remote view or web view looks perfect. Strange stuff. I tried a reinstall & it still didnt help. oh well.

GV-900 & recorded video sizes (stuck at 320 size)

Rory, that was the problem! Thanks!
  19. Hi, I have a GV 900 & I am having an issue with my video. I want to go with the 640x??? size or the 720x??? size. I select the appropriate size the system control panel says the cameras are recording at 720 & the video file size itself never records at anything other than 320. Is this a common problem? I am using a 3.2DC processor, 2 gigs of ram, a radeon 1800 card, raptor hard drive, etc. The setup is smooth as silk but the video never records at the higher resolution. Thanks, Rich

    geovision gview

I am using the boxwave.com metal case. No cases seem to have any type of antenna protection. The display is definately 240x240. The gview program works but the bottom of the screen is cut off. At the very least, I can log in & change cameras, but everything below the camera drop down list is missing (no image, full screen, etc). All I can say is it works & when on the Evdo (broadband) it works really nicely. It is even semi usable at slower speeds (1xrtt). It lets me view the "Dog Cam" fairly nicely. I would take a jpg but I cant figure out how to do it (I will try though).

    GeoVision Server

Is that the software within the geovision setup CD? What does centerv2 do?

    Geovision, wirless video, odd freezing

Yah, what he said! How did you connect a wireless camera to the geovision setup?

    geovision gview

Actually, this works great with my Treo 700w cell phone. This is the best feature (for me) about the geovision card in general!
  24. Hi, I was curious if you could use a wireless IP camera (something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826216001) and have it end up on a gevoision setup. I realize its not a great camera but I am getting some flack from my wife about internal cameras, etc. I want to point this at my dogs sleeping area so I can see her when I am out & checking in (I am curious what she does while I am out). It seems another wired camera wont be a good thing for my marriage Can I make that (or any other) wireless camera work in my geovision 900 "system"? Thanks, Rich
  25. Hi, I have a few questions about using a dedicated PC as a DVR. It sounds like making sure that particular PC is only used for the DVR function is the way to go. The auto reboot function of geovision software, how should that work if you have a "login" for the PC? Currently when I reboot the winxp password protected user account, I need to input a password in order to login & have the geovision software continue loading. How do I get around that? I have a password on the PC so I can log in via remote desktop. RD needs a username and password. I cant figure out how to get around it. I want to put all winxp updates & patches on the pc. can I install an antivirus as well? is that a no no?
