  1. And why old PCNVR? Why not iVMS Client + Storage Server? You can have like 64 HDDs this way.
  2. Man, stop getting prices from some Asian websites, those are fake. I've got dome version of this camera (indoor) and it costs $1258 MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price), even if you get super discount It wont be even close to 327 USD. They put 1/1.7" sensor inside those 4k cameras, so the lens part probably cost more than 327USD. Maybe if you buy it using "smart-try" program, but you can get only get 2 cameras.

12Mbs-14Mbps @ 20fps. It takes longer to move through menu on that camera comparing to 6.0 Mpixel ones. Also when I enabled motion detection, 25fps, line crossing and face detection, it started to drop frames, I had to lower it to 20-15fps.

Exacq smart search is kind of slow, comparing to Avigilon, but whats wrong with Hikvision smart search?

Ok, I'm getting well now So lets get back on topic: 4K vs HD1080p vs HD720p

Have you tested the new "smart search" in Hikvision NVRs?. It is easy and quick. Maybe exporting video takes some more time, and there are many files, not only one, but the price-quality ratio is one of the best. In the new firmware (3.3.0) you can even do a face search if you used 4 series cameras to record and VCA.

Holy Macaroni's! That is a lot more than $327. Are any of these new Hikvision 4K camera's near the $327 range? My dreams have now been officially shattered into the galaxy. Is there any chance that the DS-2CD4585F is near $327 in U.S. dollars? That is the one NiToNi is referring to. http://bkeesti.ee/upload/Hikvision/DS-2CD4585F.pdf I dont know where they get this $327, even 6 Mpixel box camera is $829, so I dont get it. And camera from this link looks like basic 3.1 Mpixel dome from 2 series. @UP And you can even get 100x cheap analogue cameras for that price, but whats the point Higher ress means - one camera, one licence, one channel in NVR, one screen to watch Of course you cannot use it everywhere, but still there are places, like parking lots, where ability to use only one camera comes handy. Also, have you seen prices for a Arecont 10 Mpixel bullets? It's like 2x more expensive and those are crap. Lowlight performance is bad, and SNR is MAX 40dB! 40dB!!! BTW. anyone knows how much SONY or AXIS 4K costs? EDIT If you like 2 series cameras, maybe wait for a DS-2CD2052I bullet 5.0 Mpixel, 20fps

    Hikvision VS Viewer

Yes, you can do that. Are you exporting from NVR or from iVMS or from camera?

Milestone basic license is free I think. Try that.

    Difference in these two cameras

The 2332 has better night vision and is hard to push or move.... 2332 has matrix IR, that's so-called 3rd generation infrared. it gives longer night vision distance and better IR coverage (means IR won't only focus the center point), so it's better than 2032 But still not as good as DS-2CD2T32F-I3/5/8

If you need original file, here it is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bhz9do94mb06u4n/4K%20Bullet.mp4?dl=1 EDIT Ehhh damn it. I'm here, in this lonely SPA **** Hotel in the middle of Białystok forest, huge terrain to test cameras..... and I got sick. Flu I think, fewer 39.5 C, so sorry guys, but you will have to wait for those night samples till I get better
  14. It was one of the best small, cheap NVRs on the market back in the "old days". I even made some reviews on my old blog. http://cctvnerd.blogspot.com/search/label/IPcorder Now I only use them if I need to connect some mix of camera brands, use motion detection on all of them + integration with some sensors (temperature or humidity from Poseidon brand) If you use IPcameras of the same brand as NVR - go for Hikvision or Dahua, cheaper, smoother, easier to use.

    Advanced Motion Detection

It's called "smart search" and it's available in Hikvision NVRs - if you use Hikvision cameras. You can use motion detection in area, intrusion detection or line crossing detection on recorded video
  16. Yeah, and that's the answer, no GPU rendering. I'm using E3-1276V3 procesor and everything is fine. Maybe try to add some basic video card.

What can I say! I'm very busy man Here is day sample from the bullet: dTfX11fNBCk D-WDR - off. Lens set a little bit more than 2.8mm. Sun was shining threw those big windows. No lights inside. Night time samples, from outside, are coming

    CCTV lens calculator

Someone asked me, If I can make version for foot or pixel per inch. NO. metric system ftw.
  19. Hello I'm making this calculator, that will allow you to calculate focal length, angel of view, will show field of view etc. I'm doing this in Excel, without VBA, so it should work for everyone (with MS Office ofc). I know that there are some online calculators, or VideoCAD ones, but I want something "light", offline and easy to modify. This version is for "focal length needed" Could you take a look, and tell me what you think? focal_length calculator_0.89beta.xlsx.zip

Any comments or video to share? Patience! Just got back from a Roadshow, I will post some videos from this cam, soon Good performance in difficult lighting conditions, above average low light performance. It's just like 6 Mpixel cams from Hik, but with a little better ress
  21. Foxes and weasels mostly, , but I heard that there are some wolves in those woods :S
  22. We have been testing the Hik Darkfighter also. Impressive in low light but it's huge! Yeah it is Still waiting for 36x zoom one. Also, we have this LASER IR PTZ, gonna try that.

  25. I don't get it. Ok, it will be 960x540 and so what? Still if there is something happening I can bring this cam to fullscreen, or zoom in and get full res. And what about system with 32 cams (or 64, 128 cams), one 4k TV for every 4 cams? Or 5 or 8 Mpixel cams, 1x 4k TV for each camera? Also using main stream in full ress for viewing is waste of client CPU power. That's why there are different streams in cams. Use lower res stream in live view and main for fullscreen or zoom in region.
