Geovision IP cameras - anybody using these?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to ansonwilson's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
GeoVision IP Cameras are very popular here in Poland, because they are cheap and you get free GV-NVR. We sold hundreds of them, image is good, but there is one more thing failure rate - BX120, BL120, MFD120, 130, 220 are ok. PTZ are also ok, but other cameras seams to have much higher failure rate, BX220 and BX320 is the worst of them all. -

Hi I have to say that KCM-5611 is much more better than KCM-5311E. More details, better ExDR, HUGE difference in low light performance. Here is video from KCM-5611 LIeldFirxQQ -
Good NVR or IP cameras that support POS text overlay?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to qkumbr's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We use GeoVision with GeoVision GV-Data Capture Box 3E. This Data Capture box can be connected to POS, fuel distributors, scales etc. You can serach video by POS data, but also there is software GV-Web report. It makes online charts from POS data. Info here: http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/3_1_POS.asp -
Well 5.0 Mpixel cams are nor blind @ night, there are some cameras that can give you nice picture. For exaple, I made it with IQ765 5.0 Mpixel IQeye camera: 3HGm1fs8hxo Also, low frame rate? Well in most cases interators use like 5-10 fps anyway so what is the problem? No latency in HD-SDI? Maybe in future, now server/DVR have to encode that huge stream, so there is some latency. Also if you use switches and have good software for IP CCTV, you can lower latency to practicaly non.

Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to DrBob's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ho about ACTi KCM-5311E or KCM-5211E? 2.0 or 4.0 Mpixel outdoor cameras with zoom and autofocus, and they are not that expensive. Here in Poland KCM-5311E is on the same price lvl like Vivotek IP8362. KCM-5211E: p_CV9zHB6po KCM-5311E: LC_adLiwQJI -

Acti TCM 4201 vs. 5111 vs. 1111
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to Agentchuckles's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
BOX TCM-5111 is almost same price as TCM-4201, (~280 USD here in Poland) and it comes with 4.2mm evatar lens included @OP If there is no light choose TCM-1111, it will be better at night, dont worry about winters, ACTi cameras are getin' pretty hot, here in Poland we get like -30 and cameras are fine, I will take that -20 as "starting work temperature". -

I am having some challenges with night mode at the moment, so nothing to share as of yet. The IR illuminators are posing quite a problem and it seems as though the sensor doesn't do very well at default levels, so I'm still playing around with it. Do you have anything in higher res than 800x600? -

Anyone used a POE switch like this?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to EOppie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
When I chose swith for IP megapixel cameras, I'm checking port buffer size (should be 192kb or more) and overall switch speed, should be 2x sum of all ports - for 8 port switch it should be 100x8x2 = 1.6Gbps. Also for more than 8 cameras, I always use switches with one or two gigabit ports. For exaple Cisco SF 300-8P (lifetime warranty) or cheaper (5yr warranty) Allied Telesis AT-FS708/POE 8FE -
