Best night vision IP cameras???
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to Daskew78's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
How about new ACTi KCM-5211? Its 4 Mpixel with 18x optical zoom and autofocus. Rly good image at night, clear at day. Fast focus and easy installation. There is DNR, but no WDR or 2 profiles for day and night :/ here is sample at day that we made. Distance ~1400m If You don't need zoom try new IQeye SENTINEL cameras with auto focus (IQ86x Models). -
Question about manufacturers logo
Korgoth Of Barbaria posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hey guys I just don't know where to ask about this, my friend and I just got this idea of making a site where we could drop all of our tests, snapshots, video samples from IP Cams. We just made lots of them in our lab, and we want to share them with whole instalator community We use ISO tables and some usefull software, so our tests are not subjective. We don't want to sell those cams, just show how they look like, and how they work. We want to use manufacturers logos, but can we do it? Or there is some strange policy about it? -
Good Outdoor Day/Night Camera?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to VirtualPanther's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I sugest GeoVision GV-VD120D. Day/Night vandal proof dome cam with rly good low light sensitivity. 15 IR leds, SD storage, computar megapixel lens, wide angle of view, PoE, iPhone app. You can set schedule or motion recording on SD card, or just send alerts to email or FTP. + You get free GeoVision NVR software -
Which format do you record in?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to Silence's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Shutter speed --> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/60_dlugiczas_01.swf Ignore polish text So as You can see, faster shutter - more sharp picture, BUT faster shutter means - less light for camera. That's why its important to set shutter on night cameras. 1/5shutter will give you clear night shot with lots of blur. So for me, I set on camera "minimum shutter speed at 1/60" On ACTi cameras You can send CGI commands to the camera at events. So You can set shutter 1/5 for night (good dark visibility on whole area), then set motion detection event on area near camera. If someone moves close to that - camera will switch to 1/60 shutter, so you will have clear shot on him. Here is video from ACM-1231 1/25 shutter - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/ACTi/ACM-1231/ACTi%20ACM-1231%20Night%20Time.mp4.mp4 And here TCM-3511 1/120 shutter - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/ACTi/TCM-3511%20Indoor%20Night%20Office.mp4 -
Is there anything special about a "megapixel" lens?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to videotiger's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Try searching ACTi knowledge base, there is some article about megapixel vs standard lenses. Also the best part in lens is middle part. So if you have 1/3" sensor camera, You will get better image on 1/2" lenses than on 1/3". We use EVETAR lenses, not expensive and rly good. I was making comparison with pentax lenses, and pentax was like 7% better but 2x more expensive. -
Software that'll work with AVTECH AVN252
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to eben's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We sell those with Qnap VS Also, if You have AVN252V - Onvif version You can use GeoVision. -
Virtual IP camera or IP camera emulation
Korgoth Of Barbaria posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello Just like in topic. Maybe someone have something like this? I was trying to google it, but I haven't found anything I have lots of .avi files from cameras mounted above roads - great stuff to show how car counting, or licence plate recognition system in GeoVision works. I was trying to use VLC to stream avi, but I failed -
Geovision VD220 2MP dome
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to harminator's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Same here, also one of the screws was missing... well more precisely it was flying freely inside the cover Rubber seal on lens is rly good idea - no IR glare. Very good angle, nice night shots, good price. But image is not so sharp like in IQeye FullHD domes. I know that I said I will post video samples, but our video card is broken :S and we had to send computer to technical support. So no test for a while :/ -
Iqeye511 FPS problem
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to Nimrod's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions

Iqeye511 FPS problem
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to Nimrod's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yup, 15 fps it is We use them on Koukaam KNR-100 and we get full 15fps, same on Qnap VS. How it is connected to Your NVR? Can You post specification of this NVR? -
ACTi ACM & TCM 3511 convoluted design
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to 3RDIGLBL's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hah, we just make it work after that time my friend just found the good configuration for it and its rly not that bad and thaks for that "turn off iris" it helped us 2 Still its not like in the Youtube movie, but rly good. Well You can get rly good image on ACTi cameras, but they are not "toys", you just have to spend some time on configuration. Just like You said, "right camera for the right job". I don't think it will be eol, We just got newest ACTi MSRP pricelist and its still there without any note. -
ACTi ACM & TCM 3511 convoluted design
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to 3RDIGLBL's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm refreshing this thread because recently I was testing this TCM-7811 cam. hat YouTube video is 100% pure marketing, You can get clear night shot but with MASSIVE blur (shutter 1/1 or 1/5), also there is a glare from IR leds because the rubber seal is not close to dome. I send my results to ACTi, I hope they will send some patch or something. That cam was our big hope for best night vision cam EDIT Finally we just make it work. Its just like almost every ACTi cam. You have to spend some time with it to configure it. If you do it right, You will get rly nice image -
Geovision VD220 2MP dome
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to harminator's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello I've just get that cam for testing And I have to tell You that this is rly good camera! Almost best VandalProof FullHD that I ever saw! And It's not because I'm GeoVision lover Solid construction, good wide lenses with DC Iris, spare dome, 3x gambit. It got 15 IR leds, I knot it isn't much but in dark rooms its perfect. Leds got something like "smart light" in AVTech. When You move Your face near camera they just fade off, so You can see clear face shot. Also there is good, rubber seal around lens, so no IR glare Perfect not expensive cam. Give me 2 days, I will post some video samples from it - day and night shots -

MegaPixel Cameras - Images and Demos
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
In the IQI night video, there are two people walking a dog on a footpath between the house and big tree. Can you please take the lux reading on that footpath. It's difficult to judge the light from a video, but if it's as dark as I think it is, that is very impressive for a 5mp camera at 1/50 shutter. Best, Christopher Here are those numbers http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/6833159/1/testy?h=75a776 -
plugging in poe powered cable into non poe device, bad?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to jisun126's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yo uare right about the PoE switch, it communicates with device, but some PoE injectors are passive and, they just inject power to the cable so it is possible to fry camera. -

I know I know. But I sell those cams only because of that "exposure window" thingy I will show You another sample from IQeye: Inside day: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/IQ755.inside.Avi Inside night, 1/50, no light grabber: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/IQ755.inside.night.Avi compare to: ACTi with IR Leds http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/ACTi.night.inside.Avi or my beloved GV-BX120, 1/120 shutter, No IR leds: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/GeoVision.inside.night.Avi What You think about those? EDIT @DOWN Ok, I will do that. And here is "Rat shot" from 1.3Mpixel GeoVision BX-110D. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/GeoVision1.3Mpixel.Avi -
fullHD+25fps
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to vit_elizarov's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well I get very smooth picture from GeoVision FullHD cams, but 5.0Mpixel are little jumpy. Its because of hardware in my situation. On better platforms they are rly smooth. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/IQeye.outside.Avi -

Hello there I was testing day/night cameras at my aparment (cuz our CCTV lab is not ready at the moment :S) I forgot to take my luxometer readings, will post that later. I know that some of the videos are not smooth, its because of my laptop Shots made outside from first floor, at day it looks like this (from IQeye IQ755): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/IQeye.outside.Avi At night: IQeye IQ755 - 5.0 Mpixel cam, 10fps, f4.5-10mm/F1.8, Lightgrabber off, Shutter 1/50, no IR leds: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/IQ755_LightgrabOFF_szutt1na50.Avi GeoVision GV-BX120D - LowLight 1.3Mpixel camera, 30fps, f2.8~12mm megapixel lens, Auto Iris, Shutter 1/120 and 1/60, no IR leds http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/GV-BX120.1prze120.Avi http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/GV-BX120D.migawka1przez60.Avi ACTi ACM-1231 - 1.3Mpixel, 8fps, f3.3-12mm/F1.6, IR Led, shutter 1/25: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/ACM-1231.migawka1przez25.Avi http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/ACM-1231.migawka1przez25_2.Avi -
Question about manufacturers logo
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to Korgoth Of Barbaria's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
And thats why it would be free, no infuence from manufacturers We just get ACTi ACM-1231 and Vivotek IP8332 for free from one company, only to make some tests, we will see how it will look like -
Vivotek IP-8332 and Recording Question
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to lombana's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Low frame rate AND H.264 codec? Nahhh, its not so good idea. You can use 5 fps and H.264 if there is no motion, but H.264 do best @ 15 fps acording to our tests. And why You use Vivotek -
nvr nuuo or qnap?
Korgoth Of Barbaria replied to sergiochd's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yup, it can autoboot, also You can connect UPS to it and it will monitor its work. So when power is down it will shutdown Qnap, or boot it after power is back. Have you tried Koukaam NVRs maybe? Rly good stuff.
