  1. Hi Campbell and others DO I NEED TO REGISTER - IF SO - HOW ? Thank you for the excellent information on the forums which has been a great help regarding building my system. I shall shortly be commissioning my 16Ch system at my home in the Canary Island of Lanzarote (Spain). Last year I had a break-in which is what prompted me to install a system for home use. The Civil Guardia were very good but I realised that without a good picture image it would be difficult to help them further. I shall be using an Avermedia 16ch DVR with watermarking, which will overwrite when the drive is full and only filming images from within the boundaries of my own property. Appreciate any advice Thanks
  2. this is not a bad unit in your price range http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=257 and if you are thinking of adding ip at a later time . then this is just above your price. http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=253 both from the UK tomcctv Thanks, much appreciated, your link is most helpful. I will do a search on UK suppliers. Have you experienced the image enhancing software at all?
  3. I have read many of the threads on the forums and I fully recognise that we owe you guys for your good guidance and advice. From the UK but now living in the Canary Islands I find there is little/no choice of equipment. I travel to UK periodically so could purchase there if necessary. I want to avoid the obvious pitfalls of buying a unit that does not have backup support from the supplier or manufacturer and need one that is well sorted. Having had a break-in recently I am keen to install quickly - but sensibly. Hope you can point me in the right direction for what you would choose for yourselves. I really would appreciate your help on this one guys Many thanks
  4. Hi Guys I'm a newby to the forum looking for advice on which spec or model of DVR to buy. I do not want to go beyond a necessary spec, but it is essential I am able to get good resolution on playback from motion detect when viewing and copying for evidence. Watermarking would be useful. PAL system I have seen some specs which quote HDMI ouput with 100fps at D1 and others that quote VGA 720x576 with 400fps. Big differences in cost. The areas where the cams are focussed are garden, windows and doors. There will be no fast moving objects. Free internet viewing would be advantageous. I shall be using 16 of 520 tvl sony had cams with 48led. Appreciate you views on DVR spec and models.
  5. Hi Guys I hope I have found a valued source of unbiased CCTV advice and tips from your knowledge and experience. I'm a retired Automotive Engineer just looking to do my own CCTV project (second) due to move of home. Look forward to hearing from you. Regards Den1s
