We have been asked to undertake a forensic examination of a GE SafeStore Pro II (SDVR-10PII-320) unit serial number D600-YP92-661614 on behalf of South Yorkshire Police. Unfortunately, the unit automatically goes into record and the keyboard is locked out (password protected). I am unable to stop the Record function as I am unable to access the menu because no one knows the passwords that were set for the system. None of the default passwords listed in the manual work either. Is there any method that can be used to unlock the control panel that is not listed in the manual, but will not damage the integraty of the data on the hard drives?
No cameras are attached to the system. Will the DVR still record any video to the hard drives?
