i just get 4 days of recording on pc based dvr for 150 gb
iSpyVision replied to narayan2005's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Down load 8.0 and it will fix your problems. It has new motion detection upgrades that will eliminate the night vision recording problem. -
When you have the unused cameras activated it will act as if all 8 cams had motion. So what you had before would be the same if all 8 cams had motion. Once you have actual cameras hooked up and motion detection activated you should be fine. Make sure to put a check in SMART so your recordings will always have the most fluid motion that your card is able to produce.

Are you SURE its not a fake card? I've seen this problem before on a fake card. Never on the real thing... Yet
-
We have the New for Old upgrade pricing available. It depends on how old and what type of card you have. Give me a call with your serial number and type of card and I will price it for you.

Accudome PTZ set up and main menu access
iSpyVision replied to nlantto's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You need the joystick to program it. We have tried with the Geo Software but it just doesn't work for what ever reason. Just get the $99 unit . If you can't find them we have them on our site. -
We have imported there cameras before and they were excellent high quality cameras. I have never tried there DVR. I would imagine it is as good.

Avermedia + IP Camera
iSpyVision replied to kandcorp's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Looks better. I agree with Rory that the 550 line camera is just OK. Some of you other cameras look as good if not better. The system seems to have improved alot wit many more features. The standalone looked good as well for a inexpensive standalone. -
Avermedia + IP Camera
iSpyVision replied to kandcorp's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I will have to try it when I get to our shop. Here I only have dial-up and your demo is much slower the Geo. I can only get .4 fps on you demo yet when I go to our shop system I get 3.5fps. This was the problem before that Aver had a slow frame rate on the remote view. Our shop system is also a 120 fps system on Slow DSL 168 up. I did like the standalone demo. It looked good but I had a problem with it shutting down my browser. Maybe its a dialup/laptop issue -
Avermedia + IP Camera
iSpyVision replied to kandcorp's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I tested Avermedia about a year and a half ago and found everything was good except there remote view. The remote view was very very choppy compared to GeoVision. Has there product improved to be at least comparable with geovisions webcam yet? I really wanted to deal with Avermedia back then since there main office in Milpitas is only an hour away from us rather than in Taiwan. -
Has anyone been able to connect a IP camera to a GeoVision system so it can be recorded on that syste? If so How. If not possible, how would you do it? Just one of my brain storming saturdays

dark images will alway use more space than light images. Try using the scheduler with the night only recording apon motion if your not doing so already.

The latest word as of today is the end of Feb. Its hard to get a straight answer right now since they are all taking the chinese new year off!

do you think geo 8.0 will be ready in a couple of weeks
iSpyVision replied to jeromephone's topic in Geovision
The 8.0 software will work with the combo cards. If you have a card before May 05 then you will have to upgrade your card. They will swap your old card out and offer a discounted price on a new card. They will also be bring out new hardware as well. I know they are supose to have access control integration which is probably one of the pieces of hardware. -
You can give us a call when they roll out the program. We will have the details once 8.0 comes out. They are charging for the swapout but we don't have the pricing yet.

Here is the offical Geo reponse to the rumor. Just for your information. Hi Cliff, Combo cards were newly designed DVR cards to provide better performance (DVR card + DSP Card + Audio Card) at lower price and also to replace the original GV-900 and GV-1000. All Combo cards (GV-1120, GV-1240 and GV-1480) are able to run next update version software, which you may download the upgrade software online later while next version software is available . What XXX told you was incorrect. I'll have my colleague to remind XXX on this information. Sorry for the confusion. Best Regards, Bonnie GeoVision Inc.

Especially being I have a ton of new combo cards in stock!!!
-
What you posted is what I was told before. Apparently they have changed it and say that it will only work with the new new cards coming out soon now ( as of yesterday). I wonder if Geo even knows sometimes!
-
I was talking to another Importer about the new release 7.1. The new version is now going to be called 7.4 (not 7.1) and it is only going to work on new hardware to be release anytime now. She says the new release will not work on current cards (even the 1480).The current cards on the market will only be able to go as high as 7.05 . I heard about the swap out program but I didnt relise it applied to ALL cards. My Geo rep is on vacation so I couldn't confirm it. Anyone else hear the same thing?

How do you force a specific Frame rate with a Geovision Card
iSpyVision replied to RichTJ99's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Are you sure its a real GV-900 and not a clone. I've seen this happen on clones before! -
Geovision is the way to as you have been advised here. We also use the pricing techique described here and it works everytime. I don't know if you consider geovision a non protected brand but I think its the best system for exactly what you want to accomplish with this customer. Cliff

Make sure you have your port open on your firewall/router. Its seems this is the first thing people forget to open. -
I have always had good luck with KTnC. They have always given great service with there cameras. Ask for Daniel, He speaks clear english .
