Nuuo dvr cards have anyone tried?
iSpyVision replied to Media's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Sold a few of them. We tested them and were impressed with the software stability. Easy IP config for just about every IP camera on the market. Can be upgraded with ease as well. Low CPU usage. -
The main differnce between the NV5000 and the NV6240 is the frame rate at the higher resolution of 640X480. If you build the system to avers specs the NV6240 will run at full frame rate at 640X480 res. were as the NV5000 will lower its frame rate at that res. The NV5000 is a PCI card and the NV6240 is a PCI-Express which allows the card to out perform the NV5000.

I just got my 3130 today. Its a nice camera but its a strain on a network using 45% of the LAN and 100% CPU at 3MP. Will have to play with it more this weekend but looks promising if you have a beefy System. -
Looking for a 32 channel dvr solution
iSpyVision replied to kabukiUkie's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
If its a 960fps 32 channel at D1 then why is then at 12/15fps at 704X480 which D1??? That doesn't work out. -

We have built a few of the 32 channel units. We will have another one done tomorrow. They are 960fps at 640X480. You have to build a beefy system to keep that rate. -

The VGA res. is 640X480 and yes the NV6480 PCI express does 960fps recording at that res. with 32 channels -
I'm looking for a PTZ controller that will allow a PTZ using Pelco D to Pan in the day until a certian time then move to a fixed position until the next morning in which it would start panning again. Any ideas? Thanks
-
Unfortunatly it does not. The present controller will only let you set up a pan or tour but there is no way to set up a time schedule between the pan and the preset.

We've sold several of these. Only complaint is noisy fans. The power supply is a special small power supply that can't be replaced with a silent unit .

I know they support Axis and Vivotek Megapixel cameras up to 1.3 megapixels. We are going to be testing some Axis 223M Day/night cameras that run at 2.0 Megapixels but we will tune it down to 1.3 to run on the Avermedia NV6480Express system. Curious to see what fram rate we get since this card will run 480fps on 16 cameras at 640X480. We want see what happens at 1.3 Megapixels.

Avermedia NV5000 4x4 =16ch?
iSpyVision replied to Ubon94's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I like aver's resolution better when using 720x480. Aver is a true 720X480 where as Geo uses a 640x480 image and stretches it to fit a 720x480. Not to mention Aver's new NV6480 express 32. Yep that's right, 960 fps on 32 cameras viewing and recording at 640X 480. Now that is cool!! We sold six of these this week already. They are also PCI express which gives them the capability to do that res at that frame rate. -

Its a great system for low budget customers. The only draw back between the Geo 650 and the aver 3000 is frame rate distribution. The software allows you to adjust the frame rate up to 7.5 fps per camera but it won't let set say 1 camera to 10fps and another to 5fps like Geo does. You can only go as high as 7.5fps per camera. The next software upgrade is suppose to allow frame rate distribution feature on the lower end cards. This tends not to be a big deal but it is something to consider depending on your application. -

We build the NV5000 DVR's every day. If you want to do 16 cams you would be better off buying the NV6480 Express if this is a new DVR. The NV 5000 works well too with 16 cams but the NV6480 is a better card with a higher frame rate and better options. The cost would be less for the NV6480 Express than buying 4 NV5000 cards. We sell the NV5000 to folks who want say 8 camera but may want to add more later. Never have had a problem with stability with any of the AVer cards or software. To me the pictures are more clear than Geo as well. -
Best recorded quality DVR card

We looked at several MEGA Pixel cameras at the Vegas show that are for DVR's that would be used on this system at that res. -

I like the Aver resolution of 1920 X 1280 compared to Geo 720X 480. I was told by Aver that it can record that res at 8 fps per camera. I will be testing one in 2 weeks. -

I have compared both AverMedia NV7000H and Geo 2008. I find the Avermedia to have a better image with a smaller file size with H264. -
We have tested all of the AVerMedia products and are impressed with the quality, simple to understand GUI and customer support. We just got the New EB1704Net hybrid DVR in stock that allows IP cameras . Its another fine system. We have always been a GeoVision distributor for years but find AVerMedia to be a nice, quality alternative to the Geo line. Now that we are a AverMedia distributor as well its easier for us to compare the two.
-
We are a distributor forl both AVerMedia and Geovision. Based on your current needs and possible future needs I would lean towards AVerMedia. AVerMedia is simpler to integrate IP cameras and has all the features you would utilize at your business. Dending on your systems configuration you may be able to use it but I would add more storage. PM me if you would like to discuss further. Cliff

Geovision use to have it on there website. I will have to look for it since they updated/revamped it about 6 months ago. The VIA chipset is a huge red flag and must be avoided. We have also had many motherboards that would meet geovisions specs such as having a Intel chipset with a ATI video card that simply would not work properly or would have a feature such as audio not work but the video would. Geovisions answer to why it was not compatible was "Some work and some don't. You need to test all configuratioons". Not to mention the windows setup and configuration. Dell tends to put alot of Free software and programs on there systems that can conflict with a DVR. Its basically a crap shoot if you buy a Dell to use as a DVR unless you know exactly what's in the box and if its hardware and software has been tested to be compatible with Geovision.
-
I'm sure the manufacture "geovision" would have a good reason why they would not recomend using a off the shelf system such as Dell, gateway whatever. I'm sure a Dell can be modified to work with geovision if someone spends the time to research the proper settings and hardware required to run a professional built DVR. The problem I see is that other readers may get the impression that anyone can simply buy a $399 Dell and slip in geovision card and it will be the same as a professionally build geovision DVR. Dell or any other brand home computer is not built, designed or setup to be used as a DVR. Doing so can lead to problems as descibed above or worse and even hurt a manufactures ( Geovision) reputation as being unstable or unreliable.
-
Don't use Dell Computers. They are not recommended by GeoVision.

Wireless? or Conduit?
iSpyVision replied to Agent_Jay23's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
They stopped making the non lan model due to the popularity of the lan version. The non lan version ( If you can find them) are from dealers old stock as the manufacture stopped shipping them in Feb.
