How to keep outdoor camera connectors dry?

When installing out door cameras I also install a weatherproof box, run a 4 conductor for power and enhance the installation by installing a strobe as a deterrent. The customers love it. I run the 4 conductor to get both ac and dc power. Electrical tape ? a big no no

    Toshiba IK-7100

well said Sean " title="Applause" /> if you are looking for quality (useable video) you are looking at digital cameras. Analog cameras will not give you what you want even if you wash them through a digital video recorder. Toshiba has great DVR's but they are expensive, I have been touting Mega Pixel cameras that either hook up to PC or store the video to an onboard SD card. With the large capacity hard drives that are available today and the software that comes with most digital cameras dedicated DVR's are only needed for large systems. Just a personal opinion.
  3. This summer I am going to be attempting to film the antics aboard a race boat on lake Michigan I need several waterproof head mounted cameras and one waterproof cam corder to be mounted on a the stern on a gimbal mount. Do we have anybody that has tried that or can suggest equipment to pull this off. The plan is to make some instructional sailing video's through the eyes of an proven winning skipper.

Camera to watch my scooter night & day

Look for something called a spotlight dvr looks like a security light, it will take a 10 second avi video triggered by motion up to 60 feet away, and at night will turn on the spot light also. Stores the video on an onboard sd card. The video will just over write the oldest clip when full so you can set it and forget until you have an issue. then just pull the sd card. will not satisfy your bedtime viewing pleasure, this is not analog cctv so you will be able to work with the video.

    CCTV & Access Integration

As an access control guy now in cctv I have seen this done both ways. Depending on your equipment you can use the motion feature of your cctv system to trigger events through the i o board on the dvr. And like wise you can program most access control systems to trigger say a ptz to zoom in on an access denied and document some one trying to access an area that they do not have the correct access level for.
