    Hall Camera

its stupid, the first person to come into shot is criminal, the others are fine and the camera does not even look at them.

i like your system, your vids are very good too. i subscribed to you about a month or two ago.
  7. with cameras with built in IR, the IR modual usually has 3 wires going to it, 12VIN, 0V, 12VOUT. the camera gives 12v to the modual and when it switches on, it sends 12v to the 12v out, the camera then uses this power to realise the IR is on, and remove the IR filter in the lens. if your camera does not see the IR light then you will need to modify your camera...

would it really of been so hard for whoever installed that 2nd cam to just mount it on the wall? grrr Well to be fair to them ... though they suck at that .. LOL the camera they installed, the cable is too short to go through the wall. I think they replaced an existing camera that went bad. oh yeah, just noticed three holes. sorry, forgot about those new floating tiles

yeah, i don't see whats wrong with leaving it as it is tbh. you could hook the other ch's up to a dvd player or something and watch tv whilst monitoring your cams

After I set off the 30 watt sirens, I'd run out there with my Machete and make sure they dont ever want to come back the laws on the sun must be different to here in the uk. i'd like so sit in my bedroom window with a gun and take out the scummy families one by one

its just scummy. i have lived here long enough to know the safe routes, places to avoid, routes to avoid at what times etc. its mainly because the park is right next to our alley. just scummy 'youths' letting fireworks off (or even grown men in one instance! (i will upload a vid of it one day)) and over the fence you see in cam13 is a substation wich has alot of land round it that is fenced off for a reason. people go in there and f*ck around. and the side of next door goes through to the road at the front. when i caught the robbers red handed and looked it over on the footage, i found that they had gone in through there. since the alley cams have gone in, the alley has had significantly less anti social behaviour. i also have a mic in there to catch names and i have a loud siren out there which activates if a camera looses video, is attacked, tampered with or if the shed is broken into. i can also manually activate it from inside which is good. if i see people in the alley who should not be in there, i whack the alarm on for two seconds, see and hear them stop, look around and ask eachother what it was, then scarper

you could split the input from the cameras so you have cam 1 going into input 1 and 3 and cam2 going into input 2 and 4

this first diagram is all the current cameras: this one shows the cameras that will eventually be in (the one overlooking the shed and alley blindspot will stay, i just removed it from this diagram to save it getting cluttered)

    lighting

hi, i have just installed a camera overlooking my neighbours garden. it is fine in the day but at night it can't see much. here is a screenshot of it at night in the picture below you can see my shed (square brick building) with the alley cameras on (one is in view, the other is hiding behind the telegraph pole) and the camera overlooking my neighbours garden. that street lamp lights up the alley but not the garden. i am wondering weather i should put a floodlight further down the pole and link it into the feed for the main light so they both come on at the same time. or i might ast the council to do it. i have seen this done all around manchester so i don't see why it would be a problem. if putting a light on the lamp post is not an option, i could put one on the shed. although i would rather not because: A: because of how low it is, it could (and probably would) be fiddled with B: it would look ugly C: it would be us paying the bill what are your thoughts? thanks -luke

iknow about the risk to the cameras which is the main reason there is one looking the other way. you cant get to em without being seen. if you throw a brick at it (like has happened in the past) a vibration sensor i put in the housing activates whacking the camera into alarm, sounding alarms in the house and outside. if signal is lost, the same alarms activate. the neighbour asked me to put a camera there. i was thinking about asking if i could anyway. he said he'd like me to put cameras all round the outside of his house but he does not know if the landlord would allow it. i think a pir light may be the way to go. it is just going to look ugly on the shed because it's gonna have to be at an angle and stuff but i will see about making a custom case for one (i have a friend who is a welder (dunno the proper job title) and has a big workshop full of metalwork machines) i will now do a diagram of the cameras...

nope, i just wanted to use the square housing. i like the fact that it is in colour as it will get the colour of skin and clothes. if i have decent lighting... it will not be a problem. yeah, i do have an IR vantage camera like the others in the alley but i prefer the look of this one pun intended? why not just use their own elekky?
