    Image chip from usb camera

yeah, you could do it. may be a bit fiddly though. don't forget the maximum USB cable length is not that long.

    Icicles on my PTZ

that does look good! but i have no money at all at the moment! the DVR i have now is a VISTA VC16TE CDR. it is a really good DVR with all the usual features but it is about eight years old! check my youtube channel (in my signature) for videos of the system. i have two keyboards that i can use to control the unit and any PTZs connected. the PTZ is a vista powerdome so (i think) will only work with VISTA dvrs. but i don't mind selling mine and buying another second hand PTZ camera that works with the PELCO protocol. i have seen a DVR i would quite like but it is about £1,000 so i'll have to wait. i was thinking about upgrading to IP by using encoders and one or two IP cameras but it is not worth it i don't think. if i had £150 i would probably get that DVR right now. but i don't :'( i have email and rwemote viewing setup on my current DVR. i use DYNDNS and the router updates it so i don't need to pay for a static IP

    Icicles on my PTZ

a picture of the icicles on the PTZ would be good. i have temporarily replaced camera 6 with a PTZ but i only did it yesterday so no icicles just yet. this is the snow from my cameras POV ^^this camera has now been replaced^^ i need to get a better dvr. CIF format or whatever is too small and my dvr is on its way out. i blew channel one up, the audio has stopped working, and there are a few other minor faults too
  6. i'll put it on youtube later.
  7. brilliant, that! i like the guy who points to the camera. just like the guy who put his face right up to the lens of my camera before bouncing a brick off it this programe is quite interesting too.
  8. so did England start the cctv 'revolution' then?

    Hidden camera's from a 2nd floor flat.

just looking at the two guys who are trying to climb the wall, they weren't looking to rob you, they thought it was the USA/mexican border fence....
  10. aint no flame war, its a beat down after the trolls jump up in a thread and slap me in the face. guess they dont think i will bite back. Dont start nothing, wont be nothing, simple really. if one calls it immature to fight back when someone attacks you, then I guess i am the boss of that, cause i dont bend over for nobody, especially trolls. fighting back is fine... no need to do it in public.
  11. i'm done with this thread and you. GROW UP.
  12. are you not even slightly embarrassed that it takes a 15 year old to tell you to GROW UP rory?
  13. ffs. GROW UP... seriously. you are making yourself look like idiots (especially you rory) why not use the PM function? the other forum members don't wan't to know about your childish tiffs.

    Hello. Being Targeted

what about hiding a camera in the car? you can get all-in-one cameras for cars for about £100 i think and if you start it recording when you park the car depending on the SD card fitted it should be able to record for the whole night. and the good thing about this is then you can also use it when driving as a dashboard camera so if you have a crash you have solid evidence to show it was not your fault

    angle grinder VS...

i think it depends where the camera was/the community/ who wanted it etc.
  19. you lost me at this point... Ok.... I will set cams to motion alert.... Then set time frame for said cams motion alarm.... During set hours, " nighttime" when the cams detect motion, it will trigger the alarm out port on the DVR... with proper relay in place, the alarm out port will close the loop, activating the relay. This inturn closes the loop to whatever I have hooked up< the sirens & stobes. I can also set the alarm to sound for 5 seconds, pause for 10 seconds, then repeat for 1 to 10 minutes.... SO.... In the end, say it's 3am & someone walks behind the cabin, the DVR's alarm will trip sound the sirens & light up the stobes like WWIII. This will happen for 5 seconds, everything goes dead quiet for 10 seconds, then all hell again for 1 minute. Now if that doesn't wake us up along w/ the whole hill & scare the ever living crap outta the perp, then.... LMFAO @ just the idea! I can't wait! I am not sure as to all DVR's, but mine has motion senstivity levels & when you set the motion, you can grid the screen, 20x20 squares, & select which areas you wish to scan for motion & which not. This way we dont give a stray cat a heart-attack lol Of course recording is always on, full screen 24/7 no matter what I set..... i see... sounds like an almost identical setup to mine! but i would use a PIR rather than camera detection if i were you... you can never get it right... you either get it to catch every person AND clouds and birds or most people with a few who slip through the net.
