help with system design and what should I buy?
JMANOFNVS replied to ncpilot's topic in System Design
The IKWB11A's are nice for the price and simple to install. To bad they discontinued the IKWB01A's almost the exact same camera for almost half the price. -
What he Said /\ .(got that from Rory) It all depends on the model.

Don't get me wrong there equipment isn't bad just the DVR's are a little expensive for what they are. The audio will eat that HD up quik. Will you be recording 4 different booking rooms and thats why you need 4 audio inputs? There are several 4ch dvr's with 4 ch's of audio. Louroe is what alot of my customers use for audio in that type of install, they use various type's of recording though. Are you going to want the video and audio to be in sync?

Loronix?? They don't make cameras do they?? I am a distributer for Verint/Loronix/Lanex/Smartsight and I know they have some nice software and NVR's but if you bought a kit and it had cameras in it I don't think they were theres. Did the kit you bought have cameras? Were did you buy it at? ANyways there is alot of stuff out there and I have heard good things about Verint, Visual Sentry, and Video Insight for software and NVR's. For Software, NVR's and/or cameras check otu Toshiba, Sony, Axis and Appro Tech. Toshiba even works with a third party that will host your IP cameras for a monthly fee. They keep all your video on servers and you will have access to all of it as if it were your own video server. If you want I can give you some contact info for there reps to see about some demonstations. If this is going to be a good size job for you they have no problem trying to strut there stuff.

Definitely do that but also what is the problem with the pic at twilight? Blurred, bleached out, pixely, to dark or what? What dvr are you using?

So how many cameras total? With the 2 outdoor cameras if not for security..are they for the weather channel?? Also are those 2 not at your home or business?? What do you want to be able to see? What is the lighting like where you want to point the cameras outside? Is vandalism an issue? For the installers on here what is your price range or budget because I can help design a system but for cost you need to talk to the pro's. -
I have been all over the internet too and agree with Jasper. Building your own is the way to go. I also seen one site that mentioned an amplifier will help boost your incomming signal. There was also a couple of site about a college group that built one. If you haven't searched the web..try it.

"All Digital" IP cameras
JMANOFNVS replied to Airick's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think they mean it has a built in web server and built in software. -
Have you tried one of those Bionic Ears they use for hunting??
-
Oh I see your mission now. So have you talked to any audio companies at all at least for some ideas??
-
Damn Rory you pulling another 36 hr work day?? No wonder you are good with IR Camera's, night vision and low lighting situations!!
-
Sure thing!! DOn't mind the mess when you get here, we are starting to move all the BS unnecesary crap to our new building. Has anybody told you how your girls look yet?? Don't tell them I said anything..I will PM u the details.
-
I just want a sample of the shot gun blast once you get it down. Think it would be great for my door bell!! What Audio companies have you called for answers if any??
-
Most of Extreme's equipment is very unique but there is some stuff out there that competes with there basics.
-
Hey Kandcorp who do you work for or whats the name of your company? PM me some pricing on those DVR's. They Look impressive.
-
I am usually at work around 10 hrs a day but thats just work I get paid for. Trust me I have a 4 year old girl and my son is almost 1, so between them my wife and my house that I am still trying to finish...work is 20/7 and the other 4 hours is split for beer-smokes-eating and sleeping.
-
For the price there is alot better cameras that are pretty much the same and probably come from the same place. I personally haven't seen this one but have seen a couple just like it for 50 to 100 bucks cheaper that were very nice. Extreme is a different ball game all together. Pelco and Sanyo don't really do IR bullets so its difficult to compare, but as far as overall product ratings I put speco below Pelco Sanyo and Extreme.

Good point, but still it was top notch for its time. Ya the new line of Sony's are supposed to be awesome. I actually want to see how good the SNC-CS50 is, it supposed to be designed for variable lighting conditions. As soon as they are released I am sure we will have one up to play with. Right now we have the SNCRZ25N, SNCRZ30N and the SNCZ20N, along with about 6 different Networkable DVRs up to play with. The only problem is the way its set up now you can only use one at a time but it should be rockin and rollin in about a month when the New Demo wall is done.

Sorry I have kids that can't drive themselves home, but I still put in 8 hrs.

All Tape Recorders will be gone within 6 months

From what I have heard from my reps (see my vendor list at www.northernvideo.com) Sanyo, Sony, and most of the big names are discontinuing VCR production. My Sanyo rep said they should have stock till May, but you never know. Hell I heard today there is still a manufacture of Beta machines so I seriously doubt VCRs will be extinct. If there is a demand there will always be a supply!!!
